Saturday Morning June 12th

Well Friday was another busy fun filled day with the Ross Family. We guys went fishing at our "mountain moms" pond and had good results and the gals all went to the big town of Sparta and did some shopping. It did rain in the afternoon for about 30 minutes and the low clouds kept the heat at bay while we fished for a couple hours. Sam was the man with catching bass as he out fished the rest of us 2-1 as he put 8 keepers in the bucket to our 4. I cleaned and filleted them and we fried them up for our supper which was delicious to say the least.

I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out 2 hours before anyone else made their way out of their beds; of course I hit the sack some where around 10'ish unless we are into a board game or a ball game on the tube. I did my routines that start with some quiet time with my Creator and Lord giving thanks and lifting several up for comfort and healing. All seem well as can be expected.

I took Rocky on a hike to the top of the mountain for our before breakfast hike and he throughly loves the exercise as do I. I'm eating high on the hog with our family so I need the exercise. The hand is starting to heal where I can use it more every day and I'm looking forward to getting back on the pickle ball court sometime in the next week or so. I did piddle around in the gardens and noticed a cut worm cut off my basil plants. I have several new vegetable seed sprouts breaking ground and I'm anxious to pot them up into 6 packs for future planting into the garden.

I spent a good hour looking for fishing worms and managed to find a couple dozen for Sam to use. I used a plastic worm but we let him use the real thing and it showed up with his catching fish for our supper. He and Tyler must have thrown back another dozen smaller bass and I lost several before we could get them out of the water and into the bucket; they were in a biting frenzy I guess due to a storm approaching. Any how it was one of the high lights of Sam's vacation. He also chowed down on them thinking they were the best ever and can't wait until next year when he can fish again, LATER
