Well Saturday was a wash out with rain that started on Friday night and continued throughout the day until the late evening. At times it was a gully washer and this morning (Sunday) the inside of the windows had some steam from the warmth of the cabin that collected due to the temps dropping overnight into the 40's, yeow!! It's a good thing we are heading to Florida on Wednesday as we will need to bring warm clothing back for the next month before we head south for good for the winter.
We did our usual morning routine with our quiet times and then a lite breakfast after posting this ramble. We had anticipated the weather co-operating so we could visit the festival in downtown Sparta but since the rain wasn't letting up we decided to stay home until around 5 PM when we headed out to the Dalton Farm for supper and games.
We spent the rest of the morning reading and then I watched the Ray's defeat the Orioles on the Internet 5-1 which puts them up a game over the nearest contender for the wild card slot. They still have a chance to make the post season playoffs with some good ball playing efforts. We visited with the Dalton's and Luffman's for a delicious roast beef dinner, salad, oven spuds(Nancy brought), cooked carrots and cheesecake. I passed on the dessert with some restraint as I looked down at my spare tire. I must regulate my portions and their content as I head back for a couple weeks due to all of the family dinners that will feature some awesome eatin'.
We played the best of 9 sequence games and despite our 2-0 lead to start with, the gals came back and won 5-4 in a very close match. It was great fun and enjoyable and we got back our old player Andy to play with us once again which meant a lot to the group. He is much like his old self and that meant the most for all of us. Well we headed for the cabin around 8:30'ish and the roads were wet with some wash out on our private drive due to the heavy rains. Today Sunday is a special day for Nancy and I as we will celebrate 34 years of marriage together, LATER
