Well Wednesday was much to write about except for some mundane little jobs around the cabin, a good hike to the top before lunch and then some pickle ball around 6'ish for a couple of hours. I did transplant a few seedlings that had come up in the compost pile as well as some orange marigolds tht I want to plant in my fall garden in Florida.
The day started with my usual 6'ish roll out to a pitch black morning. After my usual cup if hot green tea laced with some turmeric I posted this ramble then spent a few quiet minutes with my Creator before a breakfast of grits, sliced cucumbers and a tomato. I seem to have shrunk my spare tire just a smidgen with eating lots of fresh veggies and staying away from a lot of starches. Hopefully I can continue that trend but with eating out its difficult to maintain that regiment.
I once again almost daily picked another handful of cucumbers and tomato's. While these 'maters aren't the biggest they are very tasty and so far plentiful as are the cucumbers and jalapeno peppers. I'm eating at least a couple of those a day. Maybe yesterday I over did them as I had some stomach issues last evening. We got in our daily hike to the top of the mountain and visited with the Browning's for a few. It was hot on top of the mountain and we were looking forward to the return trip down the back road. After a lunch of leftover burgers and potato salad we sat on the porches and read for a couple hours. I headed out after the shade covered the compost pile to transplant a half dozen volunteer tomato plants into containers then dug fishing worms. One of my pickle ball buddies and I are heading over to a large private lake this morning(Fri.) for some trout and bass fishing.
I finished off the leftover dogs for supper with chili and then headed out to the pickle ball court with 3 other guys. We all had wet shirts and after two hours I called it for the evening for me. They are much younger and stayed for some 2 on1 play, which is a good workout as well. It was 8:30 before I got back to the cabin and a hot shower before the NFL game started. I watched the first half then hit the sack with some tummy issues. It finally settled down around midnight when Nancy decided to come to bed and gave me some imodium, LATER
