Sunday Morning in Miami

Well things are starting to change here after two weeks. GG has moments where she looks and acts like she could walk out of the hospital despite the fact she has only been on her feet twice since May 21st and other times when she looks like death warmed over. Sometimes its hour by hour and then day by day. The newest word from the cardiac doctors is she will die soon without open heart by pass surgery. They drained a half gallon or more of fluids from her lungs through the rib cage yesterday with a needle, yikes did that ever surprise us all but it worked as she was feeling great when we left for the night. Betsy stayed with her on Saturday night as both she and Nancy take turns with the over night sitting. We are all there through out the day was we take turns eating out in shifts.

They moved her from CCU to a room on the same floor which was not to our liking. The area where she went the first time was luxurious the first time compared to this older section, oh well. I slip over to the huge waiting room which is awesome from time to time to catch up on my computer work and to read. There is no waiting room in the older section so it's a good haul over to the two separate areas. At least we are getting some exercise. We have become quite familiar with the security and many of the hospital staff and all have been quite accommodating and friendly as well as with several of the family and friends of other patients.

I was planning on a trip back to the Seminole house for a day or so to get different clothes stock up on some necessities and get a hair cut but that will be on hold for now until we know the surgery date and time. The doctors are giving her a better chance of living some quality of life with this surgery as the congestive heart failure is imminent with the fluid in the lungs with out the by pass. At least they can control that whereas without it chances are non existent. She is happy with the chance to have a few more years and so are all the siblings as the outcome is what we are seeing now. She will need lots of divine intervention as well as family support. We have been doing that with some one with her 24/7, LATER
