Well Friday was a total fun day with a kayak trip down the New River and then a hike to the top of the mountain before we all got ready to head to Sparta for Music on the Main with supper at the Pizzeria before wondering the street listening to several bands and finally sitting for an hour and half in front of the court house to a Blue's Band.
The day started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my usual routines that start with a cup of hot green tea laced with fresh ginger and turmeric while I posted this ramble and then some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting several up for comfort and healing. All seem well as I've heard nothing to the contrary. Dan and I decided to take a river run in the kayaks so the girls headed to Galax to shop. We got on the river just before 11 and was off by 1:00 as the water was flowing swiftly and up from all of the rain the past several weeks. The weather was perfect with a few high clouds and the temps were in the upper 70's with a slight breeze. The views were awesome as well but there were several large trees down from the recent flood waters caused by Hurricane Florence which up rooted some big trees and caused some bank erosion.
We got back to the cabin around 2'ish and had some leftovers and then we sat and read for an hour before heading out for a hike to the top of the mountain. The girls were still in Galax and when we got back around 4'ish they had just pulled in. We wanted to leave for Sparta around 5:30 to have supper before listening to the music which started at 6 on the street but the headliner didn't start until 8. We had a delicious supper of burgers and salad bar and there were several folks waiting to eat as all of the eateries were filled with folks waiting to be entertained. This Music on the Main is always on the first Friday which the street is closed down and all of the businesses stay open especially the eateries.
Well we got back to the cabin just before 10 and there was some rain in the air and this morning the fog and drizzle is back on the mountain. We are expecting the Tracy group this afternoon for another picnic and supper and hopefully some games and a camp fire but as it looks now that may be in jeopardy, LATER
