Well we finally got some much needed rain last evening which came on all of a sudden. The weather changed quickly from bright sunshine to overcast and then to a lite rain. We had the gang over for the afternoon and then for supper around 5'ish. I did manage some morning chores in along with a hike to the top of the mountain. The temps stayed warm around the high 60's to low 70's except for when the rain came which cooled things down; but this morning it's back up to the low 60's once again.
I started the day with a 6'ish roll out and then to my normal morning routines that started with a cup of hot green tea laced with honey and turmeric while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and intercessory prayer for several who are hurting, especially GG. she is still in the hospital and its looking more like she will need some skilled nursing care at a facility other than Eric and Diane's home. She is having more complicated issues now with her hemoglobin being low which could mean she is bleeding somewhere like before from an ulcer which required several transfusions.
I did manage to get up on the roof and seal where the ridge cap meets the dormer because when it rain hard and the wind blows a little rain up an underneath the cap and a few drops of water drip onto the vanity. I'm hoping this sealant will keep the rain out. I did manage to make a couple boxes similar to the CanJam game which turned out ok. We need a real frisbee instead of the circle disc with no center. I put the ribs on around 10:30 and smoked them until 4:30 and they were perfect with the meat falling off the bones. I had picked our first mess of half runner green beans and they were perfect with smoked bacon for the seasoning. The gang brought a Cole slaw and Nancy also fixed baked beans, yeow once again what a feed. She also made a fresh apple crisp from the Michigan apples and it was to die for as well with vanilla ice cream. The gang headed out early as Patrick was traveling back to Florida alone for a few day on business.
We did watch both the Gators and Seminoles lose yesterday in college football and most of the ranked teams were winning when I hit the shower around 9. I then headed for the bed to read for another hour before it was lights out for me. Don't forget today is corporate worship day to honor our Lord and to pray for many folks who are hurting from the storms and then this needless killing in Nevada, LATER
