Saturday Morning

Well Friday was another beautiful day weather wise here in sunny Florida. We actually have the a/c off with the windows open as it was in the the middle 70's with a nice north breeze and no humidity. Such is the winter weather in Florida for right now. The day was a mixture of play and work and then we had the grands here for supper and the evening as Amy and Tyler had a date night. Such joy they are and maturing so fast. Eliza is the catbird of the three as she just amazes you with her level of thinking and vocabulary.

Well I started the day much the usual with my 6'ish roll out. I did my routines with a cup of hot tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet moments with my Creator. I learned last evening and associate of ours who was just diagnosed with cancer passed away suddenly after being given months to survive. She was in her early 60's. She and her husband were good friends of Nancy's brother Eric but I also knew them as they were neighbors to one of my pickle ball friends who sent me an email she had suddenly passed, yeow one never knows do we. The update on GG is still promising so we hold to the fact that she will continue to improve and get some quality of life back.

I had a good work out with several A players at the Rec. and left there after two hours with a wet shirt. I'm down another pound so I'm at 190 which is still too much for me. I'm shooting for 185  and hopeful back to 180 or so before all is said and done. I was that weight before GG went to Miami which started the swell on the spare tire with eating out in restaurants and late at night and being inactive while sitting in the hospital for 9 weeks, oh well. I need to ease up also on the size of my portions.

We loaded up Amy's bed which was a very nice queen size and donated it to the thrift store for Keswick School. The manager already had it sold when we arrived despite it being 25 years old. It still looked brand new and the mattress and box springs were in good condition as well. We then headed over to GG's to retrieve the full size bed that no one wanted and put in place of the queen which gave us more room in the toy room and then donated a dresser to ETC for one of their many rehab houses. While we got the bed free we still had to purchase sheets, comforter, etc. It did make a big difference in the room. The grand kiddos are usually the only ones who spend the night so it will be plenty big.

Well I grilled chicken legs and wings for our supper as the grands love to eat off the bone along with black beans and rice which is another of their fav's. Nancy had ice cream bars for them and I popped corn later after all their baths. I passed on all the goodies but did enjoy the meal with a hot Asian pepper from my garden to give it some spark, yeow. Nancy was shopping for most of the afternoon so I started a new Guthrie book titled THE WAY WEST. It's a classic. That was about it for the day so I hit the shower while the kiddos were watching some animated movie then headed for the bedroom to read until lights out at 10, LATER
