Tuesday Morning

Well I spent the day catching up on some "honey-do" chores as the knee is not quite right for pickle ball as of yet. I'm able to function and be on my feet but I'm a little skeptical about short bursts of speed and stopping and turning quickly. I love the game and the physical exercise but I may have to re-evaluate my ability to walk normal as opposed to playing a sport. Is that a sign of the times in my maturing process?? Oh well.

The day started out with me rolling out just a little before 6, of course by 10'ish I'm ready for some horizontal lab with the sandman calling. After my new concoction of hot green tea with a piece of fresh ginger root and a teaspoon of turmeric mixed in; it takes awhile to get a use to this taste. Both of these have anti-inflammatory properties and the turmeric is supposedly good for joint pain. I will do anything and try anything within reason naturally to help with healing the body without pharmaceuticals. I do use a little ibuprofen but that is the extent of anything man made at this time.

I did my quiet time and them posted this ramble before an apple for breakfast. I'm getting use to just that piece of fruit to start the day and so far I'm not getting hungry at all until lunch time. I have managed a lose a couple pounds but nothing like I wanted to because I'm not getting the cardio workout which PB gives me. I love food but now I'm forcing myself to portion control and trying not to eat anything out of a box with the ingredients on the side. Last night we had fresh Swiss chard out of the garden with a few beet greens mixed in and they were just sautéed in a little water only and where delicious along with a pork chop on the grill covered with fresh rosemary and some rice pilaf. The chard and greens cook down like fresh spinach and are just so tasty. If you have never tried it do so as you get some wonderful minerals for the body.

We had some fixtures in our bathroom that was starting to see some rust and pitting so I took them down and sanded them with steel wool and a rust dissolver and then spray painted them. Wow even Nancy was surprised at how well they turned out and it saved me a bunch of bucks as well. Today I need to replace some screens and then a few other chores around the house that I have let go. I continue to hand water the gardens and everything is looking good. The cucumbers are really blooming and vining out. The green pepper plants that produced all summer at the cabin and ones I brought back to this garden are setting new fruit as well. The jalapeno pepper is still growing but the shock of uprooting it and replanting it here may have been too much as it's not blooming yet. I have tons of Zinnias seedlings as well as marigolds. I will soon set the marigolds out in the front yard around the hedges to give that area a little color.

Well I can't say much for the inept and incompetent leadership in this administration as this potus tried to calm our fears in a speech that said nothing of any substance, except we must say nice things about the radicals who want to kill us; but I know one thing Trump is pulling no punches and I agree with him on this Muslim situation about bringing new people here who have not been vetted properly. He is probably over the top as much as this potus is below the ability to be competent and make decisions to keep the homeland secure. When and how did we patriots allow this kind of leadership in Washington to become the norm. I know lots of good folks voted for him the first time but why would they ever a second time based on his record which is tearing the country apart and leaving us vulnerable to those who are now within the country killing us. What has happened to sanity and common sense??? LATER
