Well Thursday was another hot and humid day here in Seminole, Florida with lots of bright sunshine and blue skies. It was in the 90's again and expected to be this way for several more days. I think I can tolerate the cold better than all of this heat and we are looking forward to getting back to the cool mountains on Sunday for another month or so.
The day started with a 6'ish roll out then a few quiet moments before a bowl of oatmeal and then a ride on my bike to the rec for some 2 1/2 hours of pickle ball play with about 7 other players. We had some great games and the play made for lots of wet shirts. I managed to lose a pound since the day before so that helped with my overall attitude about getting rid of the spare tire around my middle. I stayed away from crackers and chips during lunch and spooned my fresh guacamole on my salad instead. I must admit I do make a great guacamole and Amy thinks its the best ever as well.
I stopped off at the library for a new read by Lawrence Sanders but it was a bust as I couldn't get into it besides I have to return all books by Saturday as we are leaving; so I will read some journals from the crazyguyonabike website to keep me entertained if necessary. Amy, Sam and GG came for lunch and afterwards Amy headed to the mall for some shopping and appointments while Nancy took GG shopping and then ran some errands. Sam and I played together and he is such a hoot with his imagination. I've got him recognizing and counting his numbers and he knows all his shapes and colors. He is a smart boy and finally potty trained at the age of three.
I tuned into the MLB playoffs and watched the Pirates get hammered by the Cardinals and then in the late game the Braves were getting hammered by the Dodgers. The Rays play this evening. We had GG for supper and I grilled a couple chicken breast along with a couple fillets and then sliced them up for fajitas to go with sautéed peppers and onions which complimented the black beans and Jasmine rice, yeow was that ever delicious. So much for deflating the spare tire. We have enough leftover for lunch today. Seems we will be eating out until we head back to the cabin. We will eat enchiladas tonight at GG's then a birthday party for Annsley and Gabe on Saturday evening at Brian and Susan house in Riverview.
Well it's been a whirlwind week or so and I'm getting antsy about heading back to the mountains for a month or so. I wanted to plant my garden here in Florida while here but it's been just too dad gum HOT. My tomato seedlings are growing but will need some watering daily while we are gone so I will send them over to Tyler and Amy or maybe to a neighbor for care until I get back ,oh well, LATER
