Well If your born today you won't have another official birthdate until 2020, Yikes!!! Well Sunday was an awesome day of worship and renewing old friendships. The weather was splendid after a chilly start and temps reached the low 70's with NO humidity. These are the days we most love about Florida in the wintertime.
The day started with us actually hugging those flannel sheets until nearly 7 o'clock for a change. We had decided we were attending the evening service with our small group; but Nancy and I changed our minds and attended the last morning service as well. We just like church on Sunday morning and at one time we always attended evening church as well when the kids were small. Howard and Jo who are Patrick and Kathryn family had flown in for a few days and they all wanted to attend church service in the evening so they could rest after an all day flight from out west, so we decided to attend with them. We are even going back this evening as an Uganda group called SOZO are performing at 7 o'clock. We heard them in both services and they are a very talented. We also want to support their efforts as they bring the word of GOD to their area in Uganda, Africa.
Well the last morning service at Bridgepoint wasn't quite as packed as the 10 o'clock but the message was the same throughout the day as pastor Tim spoke on Proverbs and success. He is an amazing speaker and right to the point. We throughly love to hear his messages and the gathering is filled with all types of folks from the millennials to lots of "blue hairs" which I guess I fit in that last category. We are hoping to reach 7 thousand folks for this Easter service and are doing a unique way of inviting folks to the service. We are leaving plastic Easter eggs with service times about our church in various places we go to through out the work week. After the service last night we all stopped at the Village Inn for a evening meal or breakfast as we hadn't eaten since 1PM. We left an egg on the table for the waitress who was very sweet along with a good tip.
Well that was about it for the day as we have a busy week planned with the SOZO concert on Monday night and Nancy now is taking her mom, GG to a concert on Tuesday night since her sister backed out at the last minute. Wednesday night we are eating at the Tracy's with their out of town family from Tucson, Arizona and on Friday we are heading to the Tampa Bay Downs to watch the ponies run at the race track. We try to get in at least one visit during the year as the horses are awesome to watch and we donate a few bucks to their upkeep. We usually have such a good time yelling for the horses we choose on a whim.
The Lightning Hockey team has won 6 games in a row and are looking good to make the playoffs this year if they keep up this great play. We are excited for them as they are a young team. Baseball is also starting this month with spring training for many teams which are in Florida because of the weather. We are hopeful for our Rays. Well that was about it for the day, LATER Here are a couple of the newest pictures of Sam and Gabe on Saturday. I'm at a loss as to why only these pictures Nancy put in our file. Anyhow my two grandsons are pals with their attention clued to the Ipad. Sam turns 6 on the 3rd of March. He is on the right in the photo.
