Tuesday Morning

Well Monday was totally a never set down work day that found me on a step ladder painting the stain on the hemlock boards that I washed with bleach on Sunday and then the black insert boards that give the cabin the look we have grown use to. The weather was unbelievable great for working outside after a chilly 49 degree start.

I started the day around 6'ish only to find a couple of the windows open and the cabin was very chilly. After closing them and donning a long sleeve flannel shirt I started my morning routines which is washing down a handful of those awesome Nutrilite vitamins and supplements with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and a slice of fresh ginger root while I posted this ramble and lifted up several by name to my Creator while spending some quiet time in thanksgiving for the many blessings. I got word of losing another JWHS classmate yesterday from lung cancer. She was a cheerleader and came from one of the elite families in the county with always having the best of everything. You just never know when but we all know we will eventually pass on and must be ready to answer for our life.

After a lite breakfast of leftover peach cobbler and a huckleberry pancake also leftover I headed out to check on the gardens. It was down right cold out so I headed in to don another shirt while checking the gardens. All seem well and I gave everything a boost of liquid plant food much like Miracle Grow with my bean sprayer.  I'm totally thrilled with how the garden is growing and hope to start harvesting some lettuces, Swiss chard and beet greens in the next week for our salads of which we just love.

I had a couple of open cans of water base stain and where I touched up the cabin walls a couple years ago and that stain looked all most fresh when compared to the oil base stain so I decided even after bleaching the walls to go ahead and use up this stain. I started on the front porch and worked my way around to the back porch before running out of the first gallon. I went back and touched up the black spacer boards where I got sloppy as the brown stain was highlighted on the black. That kept me busy for the next 7 hours and I finally finished for the day around 4'ish. I never sat down except for a sandwich at lunch and my legs ached for a spell after hitting the sack. I now have to do each of the sides of the cabin which will require me to stand on a 28 ft ladder which will require some extra effort not only in the painting but setting this heavy ladder and maintaining some balance. 28 feet is a long way up especially when on the side deck which is roughly 12 feet above ground. I did get up on the ladder and spray bleach on the dormer which had a few wasps flying about when I doused the side boards with bleach but the mildew quickly vanished with the spray.

We ate a garden salad with a leftover chicken breast for our supper so now we have used up all of the leftovers. We over prepare all the time but I grew up on leftovers and some things taste better the next day. Today Tuesday I will take part of the day off as Nancy has a cut and color hair day in Sparta so I will run errands after dropping her off and set a spell in the library which is very nice. I am playing pickle ball at 6'ish so I need to take it easy somewhat. We took a golf cart ride to the top as both of us were too tired to hike and dropped off some jelly jars for Jetta who is always giving us some jelly from her black raspberry bushes which are huge. She gave me some cuttings last years and they are growing and would produce if only the deer wouldn't eat the new growth in the spring.

Well I watched out duly elected POTUS nominate who I found to be totally refreshing, a family man and a Believer despite the fact he is Catholic which I have some minor issues with but a constitutionalist which we need on the SCOTUS. We don't need another activist judge to make law but one that will interpret the law as its written in this founding document that gives everyone equal protection. Hopefully our POTUS will get to appoint another justice after Ginsburg retires or passes away. She is old and an activist for the libs which have ruined the nation especially with the law allowing the killing of the unborn and we the tax payers have to support that abomination, LATER
