Saturday Morning August 12th

Well Friday turned out to be a very nice day with cool temps to start the morning and by late afternoon a gentle breeze kept it quite comfortable on our late afternoon hike to the top of the mountain. We did get a lite rain for just a few minutes before dark but most of the day saw the low 70's for the highs. I started the day with a 6'ish rollout to my routines that start with some quiet time to honor my LORD and to give thanks for another day while lifting several up by name for healing, all seem to be holding at this time.

I headed out to check on the gardens for any over night deer damage and since I shot towards a large deer a couple days ago in the backwoods yard I haven't seen her around. I'm hoping the shot scared her and the young one she has away for good, oh well. They due taste delicious on the grill which my neighbor  blesses us with through out the year. Speaking of him he is back on the hill after being away for over a week as we don't communicate much since his new companion doesn't care for us for some reason, oh well.

We met us with a dear old friend Kimberly and her neighbor who attends church with us for lunch at the Saddle Mountain Cafe. Well that place sure does a business as the parking lot was full and the one next to it as well. The food was tasty and plentiful and then we came back here for dessert. Nancy had made a pumpkin cheesecake which was awesome and a loaf of zucchini bread. We blessed them with some veggies, blue berries and baked goodies. Betty Lou had never been here before and we have known her from church for over 20 years and her first husband who passed away several years ago. She is a widow once again and is very young for her 81 years of age. She still lives alone as she was a farm girl back when with milking 140 head three times a day. She now leases her farm out to one of the big enterprises here in this area.

Well after they left around 3'ish we sat on the porch and read until close to 5 when we took off up the mountain. It was just a perfect evening for hiking. We didn't see anyone on top but Rick, who works for FEMA and mentioned he maybe going back to Hawaii due to the huge fires there. He spent some time in northern California a couple years back when they were on fire. After getting back we checked on the garden and flower beds before settling in to reading until the Ray's came on the laptop with the MLB network. Nancy was on TV and I was on the laptop. I skipped any supper except for a slice of the zucchini bread as the lunch, a Fatboy burger was plentiful and some fries. Well the Ray's played minor league ball throughout the game but did eventually win it after blowing a 3 run lead in the 9th inning with walks, wild pitches and errors. Its unbelievable they were at one time the best team ever to start the season but now they look terrible at times, LATER
