Saturday Morning Oct.1st

Well it felt like winter here on Friday as the air was cold and dark skies prevailed all day and evening and the rains came around 10'ish. Thankfully Amy and Family got home safe after a 4:30 AM start and before the rains started here on the mountain. We went back to bed until 7'ish after they left. It took them a couple hours longer but they had no rain the entire way back to Florida so going through Atlanta was better with no effects of Hurricane Ian.

I was able to get in my solo hike to the top of the mountain after my late morning start and after my quiet times and routines. It was cold in the 40's with absolutely no sign of the sun or morning dawn. The storm was obviously heading our way. I ate a lite breakfast then headed down the driveway to rake several channels across the driveway to help move the water which would come down from the mountain and our yards through out the day and night. At times it poured with the wind whipping the rain onto the porches but mostly it was a steady rain and is still raining this morning. Thankfully there doesn't seem to be any winds that are measurable this morning so we must be getting the last remnants of the storm.

After the job on the driveway a lite rain started which drove me inside where I stayed for the rest of the day. We stripped beds and did several loads of laundry and cleaned the cabin from top to bottom as we are expecting company the first of the week for the next two weeks or so. I vacuumed the cabin then use a wax and cleaner on the hardwood floors which kept me busy for a couple hours while Nancy worked upstairs. The place is now clean of Rocky hairs and slobbers which he is noted for. He was a hoot to have around and I really enjoyed his company on my early morning hikes. He acts like a bull in a china cabinet while in the woods as the different smells have him off on trails as he investigates.

Well they cancelled our Friday night Bible study which was a good thing as it was cold and rainy and I didn't want to venture out after dark in this weather. We stayed inside and ate leftovers for both lunch and supper and then we watched Jack Hibbs on a message about the state of our times according to Bible prophecy. The world is in a mess and the many signs make you wonder if the end is near. I tuned into the Ray's game in Houston and they won finally securing a wild card berth in the playoffs. I don't know how far they will go as the Astros are a much better team as they won the division but they loss night to the Ray's. GO RAYS, LATER
