Saturday Morning Sept 16th

Well Friday was a bit on the cool side for most of the day except by late afternoon we were able to play cards and eat outside on the deck. It was very pleasant and the coolness kept the bugs away. Great fellowship with the Nymark's and now the Martello's who arrived around 3'ish. Ann and James have moved out of Seminole and bought property near Brooksville along with their son and his family. They love to grow gardens and now raise chickens.

I started the day much the usual with my 6'ish rollout to wearing a flannel shirt as the temps were down into the low 50's but plenty of sunshine. I did my quiet time to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing, all seem as well as can be expected. I headed out after breakfast to check on the gardens for deer damage. They did get in the night before and et the lettuces and the beet greens. I just a minute ago ran them out of the yard once again.

We spent the morning getting ready for the Martello's as I had two large whole chickens on the smoker at 11 and took them off around 6'ish. I harvested a mess of half runners for the dinner table as well along with oven taters covered with fresh rosemary and a garden fresh salad. We had a little vino to start the event. We did set in the sunshine on the deck after the Nymark's arrived and played a game of "hand and Foot" which the guys prevailed but the later game after supper was just the opposite with gals winning big. We were all tired and decided to call it a night around 9:30. I did watch the Ray's win big over the Orioles 7-1 to now tie them with the best record in our division after giving up the lead a month or so ago.

Today we are planning on visiting Sparta for the Heritage Festival and then once again getting together for supper and games, LATER
