Sunday Morning

Well Saturday was a busy fun filled day as the weather was just perfect. There was just enough chill in the air to where you could wear long pants and be comfortable despite the bright sunshine and clear blue skies. There was no humidity and temps may have reached the low 70's by late afternoon. We slept in to start the day until nearly 7 for a change. After our usual quiet times and the posting of this ramble we got ready to meet up with neighbors Dan and Carol for a busy day together.

We headed down to St. Petersburg near the pier to a park that was filled with all kinds of vendors that sold food, ceramics, chutneys, clothing, fresh organic grown veggies, kettle corn, barbecue, music, dancing, etc all outside. This place was wall to wall people and about half of them had dogs on leashes or in strollers. We sampled several items and purchased a few as well as brought back some veggies. We spent a couple hours mingling into all of the tented venues and was entertained by all kinds of folks in their various outfits and dancing. This fair happens every weekend and there were some great looking restaurant type foods from all kinds venues as well. There was several stand up places to eat as well as a huge area with tables and umbrellas. The ambiance was very nice as you could see the water near the pier with thousands of sailboats at their docks. Al Lang Stadium was right next door which is very impressive as well.

We left the fair or outdoor market as I believe it's referred too and headed back towards Seminole and made a stop at Sonny's Barbecue for lunch before heading out to the other side of the county on Indian Rocks Road. Dan was familiar with this organic gardener who grows everything that is edible from trees to shrubs as well as lots of vegetable plants. She also sells powdered minerals that come from out west that has every know trace and lesser minerals for your plants. This powdered mixture comes from a dry seabed. I thought I would give it a try as well as we purchased a Stevia plant and a dill plant as well as some heirloom seeds. The Stevia leaves were so sweet and Nancy wants to try them in her coffee.

We then walked a couple shops up and found some beautiful flowers and herbs. At first I thought the organic shop and flower shop were in business together. We purchased an herb basket for Bobby which would be perfect for his small porch area at his townhouse. The herbs in this basket were just beautiful with 6 or 7 different herbs as were all of the flowering plants. I mentioned to the owner she should use some of the organic mixture from a couple doors down to feed her plants as opposed to the petroleum based fertilizers. We made a stop at the seafood market as well at the produce stand before heading home around 4 PM.

We were meeting at 5:30 for a supper of fish tacos, black beans, rice and salad. I put a couple pounds of fresh fish fillets on the grill and Nancy made a fresh salad which we took up to the Botbyl's for supper. We played a game of Phase 10 after the cleaned and Dan won big time once again as that seems to be his game. We headed out for the house around 9:30 after a fun filled day with some good eatin'. Today Sunday we head to Tampa for worship with the gathering at Element Church and then to help Bobby move the last of his belonging from the garage at his old house. That will be a sad moment for all of us as it's one final moment in his life that was once so joyous, LATER
