Well February went out like June with temps close to 90, blue skies and humidity. I doubt very seriously we will see anymore cool temps until next Fall here in central Florida. Sunday found us up early as we had to pick up the Botbyl's around 8 and head over to our Sunday morning worship group to share breakfast and then to worship via simulcast or on line with our home church BridgePoint from the Tyrone area. We heard a great message from 1st John on "love is". Afterwards we broke into small groups and lifted up several for healing and concerns each of us shared. We left by 11 and headed home to drop off the Botbyl's then we got ready to head to a new eatery in St. Pete where we were meeting first cousins and their mates. Tammy and Rich are wanting to move to the Sarasota area and are down from N.C. visiting and Clint and Brenda live here together in the Largo and have been together for 12 years or so.
Clint's mom was the oldest of my bio mothers siblings, Aunt Elsie and Tammy is the daughter of Uncle Jr. my mother, Georgeanna was second in age behind Elsie. Clint and his brother Ian have lived in the area since their folks have passed away but we were never close except for visits from other coming down to Florida. I think we have seen him maybe twice or three times in as many decades. Uncle Jr was the closet to them. We met at an outside eatery called Clams Place. I had good seafood as did everyone else. It was very casual with bathing suits to flip flops. We all wore shorts and ate at a picnic table under a canopy next to busy 9th street.
I had clam/gumbo mixture of soup and some smoked fish spread and Nancy had the fried cod burger which she said was very tasty. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and we shared together family memories and stories for close to two hour. I was the oldest of the cousins and didn't really share much history of being with Clint and Tammy but did share much of being mainly with their parents. The youngest of the sibling was Uncle Frankie and he and I were 9 years apart in ages so many of the cousins relate to be as Uncle Butch. It was a fun time and now Tammy and her family are close to Bobby, our son as they often visit him and he them when ever he is in N.C.
Tammy and Rich have looked at several houses that Bobby's company have renovated and are in the process of renovating but real estate here is off the charts with bidding wars and all of the big money folks moving here from high tax states like N.Y. and N.C. The value of houses in our 'hood are off the charts as well. It's crazy that our house is so now high valued much like what happened to the market years ago in California, oh well.
I had Clint and Brenda stop by and I loaded them up with leafy greens, beets and some herbs. They were most thankful and were surprised at my garden and how much it is producing. After they left I hand watered and then read the read of the afternoon and evening until shower time and then an hour or so of the Oak Island Show on the history channel, LATER
