Wednesday Morning June 4th

Well the morning started out chilly with the heat on but by the late afternoon the windows and doors were finally opened to let in the warm sunshine and air out the cabin with a beautiful sweet breeze. Much like we are a custom to, finally. It was a great day all around as there were plenty of chores both outside and then mainly in the basement as I vacuumed, mopped and did some general cleaning as we get ready for the oldest grands coming on Friday to stay down there for a week. They have their own small living quarters and love it and its always cool there in the hottest part of the day which I like to visit to cool off when working outside.

I started the day with my 5'ish rollout mainly due to Nancy's snoring which seems to get worst the more she stresses with friends coming tonight for supper and then of course with family coming for a week. I do get about 5 hours of constant sleep before she awakens me the rest of the night as she can not sleep on her right side due to some jaw issues or so she says, oh well. Anyhow after a avocado with eggs and grits for breakfast I ventured out to check on the flower and garden beds. No sign of any deer damage and I'm about to get my electronic solar critter deterrents any day now. I sure hope they work.

All of the new seedlings seem to holding and I did a little hand watering after supper especially the new wild flower beds as well as the marigold and zinnias beds. I'm hoping they sprout and give us some color but we do have a few flowers in bloom along side the cabin as well as some blooms on the hydrangeas which should open in a few days. The freeze hurt them again before we got here. It should be a good berry harvest this year as well.

We took off on a visit to our dear friends through the woods from our cabin who are having some severe health issues. Frank is on oxygen 24/ 7 and is blind in one eye and there is no cure for that and Anne is having shoulder issues and severe arthritis. They live in Lake land Florida but come up in the summer like us and she too is a gardener, but in pots mainly for veggies but does have some beautiful flowers along side their fence on the driveway. They are the folks that we helped them to get their cabin from an old neighbors we knew back when they were selling out. Luckily we heard about them selling and contacted Anne and Frank right away and she agree to sell it to them.

Well Nancy pan fried a couple salmon fillets and accompanied it with some buttered pasta which was delicious to say the least. Tonight were are having the Frankis Family over for supper and I'll do St. Louis ribs on the grill along with all the accompanies that Nancy decides. We want to repay them for mowing and edging and doing some chain saw work before we got here as well as celebrate Skylar's birthday and to meet their new little girl. It should be a fun time with some good eatin', LATER
