Well Monday was another nice dry day with plenty of sunshine and blue skies but it did cloud up in the afternoon with a 1 minute rain shower that you could count the drops and it was much warmer as well. The a/c was on again after our mid morning hike as Nancy was flushed because she doesn't perspire at all which actually helps keep you cool, anyhow we did our hike which I'm thrilled because we both need that exercise and the scenery is fantastic.
I started the day with a well before 6 rollout which was a change, so for a couple mornings I actually slept in close to 7'ish for some reason as thats not normal for me, but I'm back on my around 5:30 rollout schedule. I did my quiet moments to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. I have to add another name to my list whose name is Chris. I've known him for years but haven't actually seen him or his beautiful family in ages but he is suffering horribly with stomach cancer and he is only 58 years young and its not looking like he will survive this event. Keep him and his family as he just became a grand dad with his first grand child. He has 4 daughters and a beautiful wife and is an associate from when we first came to Cornerstone Church as he is the brother in law of our pastor. Every one else on my immediate prayer list seems to be holding with this post.
I did my routines that had me stretching on the back porch before heading out to walk the property and check on the deer damage; its not looking good for the hollyhocks this year to bloom as they are like a magnet for the deer diet. The small fence around the October beans seems to be working as they are coming back with lots of leaves on the vines and I did harvest another nice zucchini as well as three yellow squashes and another hand full of cherry tomato's and a couple plum as well as the larger tomato's. I'm almost to the point of giving some away to neighbors. The flower beds are in full bloom all except the circle drive which has some plants in bloom, but where we sowed wild flower seeds, nothing but weeds and grasses, oh well. Speaking of grasses the one area in the backwoods yards which I sowed some grass seeds is now green with grasses which for years only grew moss.
Well we ate leftovers for our supper and then headed to church for our respective Bible study classes which lasted close to 9 before we left for the cabin. Now that the parkway is open its a much easier ride and faster as well. We sure missed traveling on that for a couple of years and now today we head to Galax for some shopping and will take the parkway most of the way.
I did take the afternoon off and watch the LLWS until it was time to head out around 6:30 for church. Today there are 4 games and we will get to watch all but the first game until we get back from our trip to Galax which is usually around 1'ish or later. We have noticed the days are getting shorter and it stays dark longer in the mornings as well, LATER
