Well Memorial day was a fun day with the Ross Family and at times Rocky was a pain with his appetite that includes sticks, dirt and even some rocks before his dog food which caused him to throw up the junk he ate a couple times. He is noted for eating anything but real food, oh well.
The day started out with a sleep in until 7 for me which is a change but once everyone was awakened it was a non stop day with a great breakfast to start the day and just snacks until late evening when we had ribs, mac and cheese, half runner beans and garden salad all of which were fantastic. We skipped dessert except for smores out by the fire circle later in the evening. It was our first fire since being here and the evening was perfect after a chilly start. The afternoon finally warmed up to a balmy 70 degrees after another 40's morning. There was finally plenty of sunshine throughout the day but the breeze kept any heat in check.
We hiked around mid day all except Ava who hyper extended her knee and Rocky who is having some hip issues. We ordered him some CBD gummies which has helped Mechelle's dog who sustained a broken leg a few years ago and now plays like a puppy. Mechelle's uncle grow the plant and processes the oil into gummies for its health benefits.
Amy, Tyler and Nancy headed to Galax for some shopping and I took the grands to the creek so they could play in the cold water looking for salamanders and crawdaddies. That water was freezing but they played in it for an hour or so. I did get to watch the the Ray's beat the Yankees in N.Y. with the MLB app Tyler shared with me on my laptop.
Well I lost another classmate who had actually married a distant cousin who passed away a few years back. She was in bad health and so was he with their chain smoking and poor health. He and I went to school together since grade school. Well that was about it for Monday and we have one more day with the Ross's before they leave for a weeks vacation with Tyler's family from Kansas in Gatlinburg. We will keep Rocky while they are gone and lets hope he doesn't eat anything other than dog food, LATER
