Well Sunday was one of those days you only want once in a blue moon. It all started on Saturday when Nancy was having a severe bout of heartburn, indigestion, bloating and whatever in the tummy and chest area that ended with her either contracting an intestinal bug or a bad case of gerd. Whatever the cause she was on the throne all night(Sat.) long with the runs and of course I was awake with her when she made the trip to the bathroom most of the time successfully. She was suffering horribly. I finally convinced her to take some Imodium in the morning and that change dramatically her suffering and trips to the bathroom.
She spent most of the day in bed resting and trying to regain her strength. I'm on pins and needles worrying if maybe I will contract that bug, if that's what it was. Anyhow Sunday was nothing like a normal day in Florida except for the weather. It was a gorgeous day as I did head to the grocery early in the AM for some necessities to help with her overcoming this condition. There was some coolness in the air despite a bright sunshine day. I headed out to hand water the gardens after getting some Imodium in her. That cold snap where it was down in the 30's last week played havoc with my cucumber plants. They look rough and it will be hit or miss if they make it. Everything else looks good and the leafy green plants look the best as they love this cooler weather.
I spent the rest of the day after a light breakfast, an a few quiet moments before checking out the kickstarter program for Bobby's book, THE EPIC OF HAVEN. He is asking for pledges to help with the publishing costs, etc and with that you will receive a signed copy of the book along with other amenities depending on your pledged amount. His initial goal is 10K and he has until Jan 6 to reach that amount. I've already made my pledge and if any of you feel inclined to help with this project I will enclose the website at the end of the ramble. The book is an allegory and is the first in a trilogy. He is about half way through writing the second book. I don't know where he finds the time for this endeavor between leading Element Church as their pastor, performing weddings and the counseling that goes with that, his private chef occasions, Amway business(Jill mainly runs that) and raising Annsley and Gabe. He is one busy guy.
The Bucs got beat by my second favorite team and I think the Panthers have a chance to go to the big dance if they play the rest of the season like yesterday. I think their QB is one of the best in the NFL as his threat to run the ball at any given time is an extra weapon. His arm isn't bad either as he picked apart the Bucs defense yesterday.
I grilled chicken breasts for supper and Nancy ate well along with a baked tater and salad. That was the first substantial amount of food she has felt like eating in over 24 hours. She needs to eat rather bland for the next couple days to see if we can reduce her indigestion, heartburn or whatever is ailing her gut. She has been dealing with this for a couple months. Maybe it's her magnesium supplement as we learned that can cause some problems in the tummy, oh well! Hopefully we can get this straightened out soon. I think she is off to see the doctor in the next day or so, if she can get an appointment; in the meantime I'm trying to regulate and oversee what she eats.(That's a butt your head project) I think we will have to make a lifestyle change in our food types and consumption for her.
Well that was about it for the day. We sure missed seeing our church family and interacting with them at Element this morning. Hopefully we will have better days with regard to this tummy distress. Keep Nancy in your thoughts and prayers as she doesn't take well to being not able to perform normally. We are both alike in that regard as neither of us are good patients, LATER
