Monday Morning Aug 4th

Well Sunday was quite chilly to start the day with temps into the upper 50's, yikes this is the last month of hot weather usually for the mountains and already we've had the heat on in the morning and then again after church in the afternoon; of course dark clouded skies and the threat of rain with fog and mist didn't help with the weather either. We did see the sun or I did because I was out walking the property just before dusk when it popped out from the overcast for just a few moments. Its supposed to warm up later in the week to the 70's but I think the high heat is gone from here for a spell or maybe even until next summer, of course the high heat is till in Florida and down off the mountain.

I started the day with my usual before 6 'ish rollout to my routines that start with some quiet times after posting this ramble to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding with this post. Nancy had the faux fireplace on for some heat as I stretched on the back porch and then walked the property checking on the gardens for deer damage. I donned a flannel shirt while doing so. The dampness really made you feel the chill in the air and it stayed that way most all day even though the temps did get into the upper 60's by late afternoon.

We watched Cornerstone Chapel on the internet before heading out to Cornerstone in Sparta to our own church family and heard a good message about the 40 days series when Joshua entered the promise land and GOD directed them to the down fall of the city of Jericho. After the sermon we met up with the Frankis Family at the Pizzeria for a delicious lunch. We made plans for them to come to our place on Wednesday as we celebrate my birthday with a get together. They mentioned all of these gully washer rains washed out a lot of their gardens so I'll have plenty to share with them when they come by later in the week.

We came home and settled into the Ray's game and they lost again to the Dodgers at home. Their season's chance for playoff ball is quickly evaporating as they now have a two week trip out west against all good teams, oh well. Since we had a large veggie pizza for lunch we skipped any supper, but I did pop some corn and we settled for a change into a couple movies. Sandlot was a fun watch and then I found a movie about Hank Williams life called I Saw The Light. What and interesting story about the country singer who made headlines all over America and died at the young age of 29, wow what a waste of talent that alcohol and drugs had such and influence in his death and demise of family life. Those two movies were the first I've actually sat through in many moons.

Well I soon hit the shower and put an extra blanket on the bed for the night as its still quite chilly and slept like a baby for a change, oh well, LATER
