Saturday Morning Jan 22nd

Well the weather here has been awesome with mild mornings and beautiful afternoons and evenings with just a slight chill in the air after dark. That is supposed to change this weekend with another cold front moving into the area and maybe some frost on the horizon for Monday morning. I think the big oak in the back yard will prevent any real damage to the garden but I do have plenty of old sheets to cover if need be.

I'm still fighting this pneumonia with shortness of breath at time especially if I really exert myself but I'm recovering much quicker with some breathing exercises. I feel as if I'm starting to see some improvement with my energy levels and with being able to do more physical activity. I did manage a trip to my local barber which I was in dire need of an ear lowering before Christmas but had to put it on hold until yesterday. It was good to converse with some one other than Nancy and her laryngitis which seems to improving some what.

I spent the biggest part of the day watching documentaries on every thing from Vietnam to travel guides through out the world. It's amazing at your fingertips there is so much info especially in videos which put you right there. I've just about finished a read titled ALONE ON THE ICE which is about an Antarctica exploration in the early 1900's by Mawson. What a read and the agony he suffered in the elements but he made it out after losing several friends and fellow explorers.

I grilled a couple steaks we chopped off from our huge Christmas loin roast that was just too big to serve all at once and they were tender and juicy along with some leftover garlic noodles and beets. I took what I hope was my last dose of steroids yesterday morning and now can hopefully purge my body of these meds and get back to only whole foods, vitamins and supplements. I'm still fighting this rash on my buttocks but I think it has something to do with these meds, LATER
