Well hopefully this time next week I'll be making this post from the cabin in N.C. and do so for the next 5 months or so. It sure will be a change from this hot, humid and flat land here in central Florida. What a difference in our two places and we have been blessed to share with so many over the years. Its going on 32 year since we purchased the undeveloped mountain land and had a cabin built. We so love the change and yet we had to sadly say good bye yesterday to our SRBC family until the end of October.
I stared the morning with usual well before 5:30 rollout to my routines that start with some quiet times to honor my lord, JESUS, give thanks for another day and to lift several up by name for comfort and healing. All are holding as of this post. We headed out to SRBC to work the side doors, greeting, hugging and hand shanking lots of folks and then had say so long or good bye until next Oct or Nov. depending when we get back for the winter. There were lots of "we will miss ya'll", "keep in touch", etc and some are wanting to visit as well. I can't blame then for wanting to get out of this heat and humidity but we will have seberal to visit over the summer.
We came back and starting putting the house in order for the huge "mother's day" supper with all of Amy's family and then Betsy and Gus. I grilled brats and Nancy had a huge salad and a coconut cake, Amy did sauteed peppers, onions and brought buns and Betsy brought tatter salad and extra brats. After eating we played a game of Sam's much like charades and it was a hoot. Everyone even Betsy and Gus participated. Everyone cleared out around 8 as it was a school night. I did watch the Ray's lose big time after winning the night before to the Yank's at home and at least it wasn't a sweep for them. There were way too many homers by them to seal the game.
We have our small or life group meeting and supper this evening up the street at the Botbyl's, so Brian our friend and remodel man is coming by early to finalize on what his bathroom remodel duties are and give him a check as well as a key to the house. Hopefully he won't run into any real large issues he can't handle while we are gone, LATER
