Monday Morning June 19th

Well Sunday was awesome day of worship both here in house at Cornerstone and then again online with Gary Hamrick in Leesburg, Va. and with our home church pastor at S.R.B.C. with pastor Derek. Jake and Katelyn who led a youth mission trip to an old home town one time of mine in Shelby, N.C. gave the message with their testimonies of that trip and the changing of lives for these youths and those they came in contact with in that town. They had us in tears with their stories of how GOD used them to address the folks in that area. Since we were meeting them and a large group of folks out at their property later in the afternoon we skipped eating out and just headed home after a stop at the Food Lion for some items on sale that we needed.

I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my routines that start with some quiet moments to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All are holding but our dear friend Clarence Crouse is hurting and not doing well. Everyone else is holding. We came back after church and shopping to put together the items we were taking to the picnic. I got phone calls from both Amy and Bobby wishing me the best on Father's Day and even a text message from grand daughter Annsley wishing me a happy day.

The trip or ride over to Jake's and Katelyn's place was thrilling as we dodged several deer who jumped out from the brush into the roadway in broad daylight and we saw what looked like a brand new baby fawn cutting across the road and down into a field. Their property is coming along and they are fixing up a mobile home to live in while they build their dream home. Both of them are so talented and their work ethic is beyond the normal plus they are raising two toddler's. I always say she would be a good candidate for going west on a wagon train and thats saying a lot as not many women that I know today could fill that position.

We got to know a few new other couples as well as renewed old friendships and shared many delicious dishes along with grilled burgers and dogs. Nancy's macaroni  salad and cup cakes were a hit as well. It was a fun time with family and friends and the ambiance was awesome as they continue to make many improvements to their 22 acres and build their dream house. We left around 8 and headed home which takes a good 30 minutes or more, LATER
