Saturday

Well Friday was a long day that ended with us having a safe trip of 700 miles back to sunny and warm Florida. I started the day around 3 AM(actually earlier than that as I never sleep the night before making this trip either to the cabin or back to Florida) with the temperature down into the low 30's. I never noticed any frost as it was dark but down off the mountain at our first stop in Rock Hill, S.C. everything was covered with the white frozen stuff. We try to stop and walk every hour and a half or so to keep from having another blood clot but it was so cold we just walked around inside this huge truck stop for several minutes after gassing up for $2.93 a gallon.

We had on 3 layers of clothing when we left so we could peel a layer off the further south we traveled as the temps warmed up and by the time we stop outside of Tampa for a walk around a rest stop we were down to just a t-shirt as it was in the high 70's and just beautiful. It was so bright outside it took some adjusting as I donned the sunglasses which I hadn't done all summer. We pulled into the house around 4 PM after getting caught in the traffic backup in Tampa and quickly unloaded the truck. Everything looked good and the veggie plants I brought back looked good as well. The tomato plants I had started in October in the garden are now blooming. I think about 3 or 4 made it on their own while we were away.

We headed over to GG's for a glass of vino and set down to a chicken casserole and salad for supper. She looked great for her age and is still quite the cook. That's where Nancy gets all of her expertise from. After the cleanup we headed home about 7'ish and then finished unpacking after a grocery stop. After a hot shower I laid down to watch the last of O'Reilly and conked out. Nancy was still doing her thing and I'm not sure what time she came to bed. I did wake up after a bad dream about our crazy neighbor that once lived next door and tried to blow the neighborhood up with propane tanks before she was shot. Yikes I can't believe I dreamed about her!!!

Well we are thankful to all who kept us in their prayers for safe travel as we had an uneventful trip. The traffic was lite most of the way except for stop and go traffic in Tampa. We saw more cars there than we saw all year in downtown Sparta. The humidity seemed to be non-existed despite the temps in the low 80's which actually felt nice for a change. My legs saw the sunlight for the time in weeks, LATER
