Wednesday Morning

Well the humidity came back on Tuesday with vengeance so the a/c is back running once again. There was plenty of sunshine around and quite a few clouds and even a few sprinkles at times with temps up near the 80's. I spent the biggest part of the day under the oak in the back yard covering 3 ladder back chair seats with vinyl.

The day started with a 6'ish roll out and after my quiet time and the posting of this ramble I got ready to ride out on my bike to the rec for some nearly 2 hours of pickle ball with 10 other good players. I was drenched by the end of the period with a soaking wet shirt as well as a worn out set of legs, yikes what a work out. I stopped off at the library for a couple new reads I had on order before pedaling home. I then hand watered the garden before bringing out my tools to tackle this first time job of covering home made seats with vinyl. I had to make a few modifications with the plywood seats to accompany the foam rubber and vinyl as I stretched the covering into place then staple and finally use some tacks to hold it secure in place. They turned out well for my first attempt at this project and Nancy seemed pleased.

After my first seat covering I stopped for a bite of lunch with Amy, GG and the kiddos. GG brought some leftover Italian bean soup which is one of my all time favorite soups and along with a ground turkey sandwich had my fill, so it was back outside until nearly 4 o'clock. I now have to mount the covered seats to the frame of the chairs and that has turned out to be a bigger job than anticipated. I will need to head to Home Depot for some L brackets in hope's that will work to keep the seats on the frame as before there was rush twine that was weaved around the frame to make the seat.

Nancy took off with GG sometime after lunch to run her errands and then she put a meat loaf in the oven. I gathered my first mess of collards which were very tender and young so I chopped them for a sauteed instead of the normal way of boiling them for hours. They were delicious with a little salt and pepper only stir fried in water. Nancy cooked up some Jasmine rice to round out the meal. After the cleanup we headed into watch the Fox News channel only to be once more inundated with the Ferguson debate over the death of a criminal who accosted a police officer in uniform and was subsequently shot and killed by the officer. The color of the either of the two should not even be mentioned but the race baiters are making a big issue as well as others of notoriety.

Well after a hot shower I read and then it was lights out for me around 11'ish. Sam and Eliza Faye have a low grade fever and runny nose and it seems it may have wondered into me. I still haven't completely shaken this nasal drip and occasional cough so today(wed) I think I will give the body a rest from pickle ball to help with building back my reserve, LATER
