Well Saturday turned out to be a non stop day as we were busy from nearly sun up and until late into the evening. We started the day with a 6' ish roll out to nice temps once again. After my usual quiet moments and a lite breakfast I pedaled out to the rec for some 2 hours of pickle ball which is an open day for all players. We had a few of the advanced but mostly the intermediates but some of them have really improved their games and we had some great play. I never sat down or lost a game for over an hour as we split the winners and then paired up with a new partner. We had 3 courts in action and about 6 waiting to get on the court through out the morning. I made a quick stop at the library for a new read before heading home after the workout.
Nancy said that Amy called and if I was bored they were doing some yard work and my presence would be greatly appreciated; so after watering my garden I had a quick lunch about 11:30 and loaded up some tools and headed over. Tyler is always ready to help me with my computer problems and updates so I figured it was only fair for me to help him with some yard work. As a matter of fact we are going to save my programs on a thumb drive and then completely rebuild my laptop in the next couple days as I have major virus which is disrupting our ability to post pictures and view videos and causing some programs to act weird.
We sawed down and then worked up a small tree as well as digging out of the ground a huge dying succulent bush as well as removing several shrubs and plants. We filled several of their trash cans as well as several cans loaned to us by the neighbors. That kept us busy for a couple hours in the sunlight which was rather warm or down right hot. We both had soaked shirts by the time we finished. Next time we want to work in the back yard and get it cleaned up.
We were watching the kiddo's for supper and the evening as Amy and Tyler attended a deacon Christmas party and then afterwards a movie. I grilled chicken legs which has become a favorite for all three of the kiddo's; even little Eliza loved the meat as I cut it off the bone into small pieces for her. We had black beans and Jasmine rice as well as some broccoli and salad to complete the meal. The kiddo's can now put away the chow with Sam eating 3 legs. Nancy gave them each a cupcake for dessert as she had made some for the Christmas party at church tonight and the recipe made more than she anticipated. I finally gave away the rest of the Christmas cookies to our neighbor as well as a couple cupcakes. I must say nary a one crossed my lips and I'm thrilled I had the will power to resist those delicious delights.
Well today is the gathering at Element Church in Tampa and then again this evening for the children's musical program. We will travel close to 200 miles today as we make 2 trips there and then later in the evening we will head over to Patrick and Kathryn's place on the Indian Rocks Beach for their annual open house which will feature some superb finger foods and visit with some of their closest friends. We are honored to be friends with such a generous and loving couple who are followers of CHRIST. We have become great friends and look forward to many more years of sharing some summers and house church meetings together. We are planning a trip out west this next summer along with other friends in our house church from Element, LATER Here are Nancy's cupcakes for the children at Element after the musical tonight in lieu of a birthday cake.
