Well Thursday finally saw of with just a small touch of some sunshine during the late evening but this morning its back to rain and fog. No down pours or gully washers but still more rain. We were hoping after seeing some sun in the late evening it would be clear skies and warm temps for a change. Nancy is still having the faux fireplace on for some warmth which runs off 110 and puts out moderate heat, oh well.
I started the day with my usual before 6 rollout to some quiet moments to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding with this post. It was still so wet and dripping rain that I waited until mid morning to head out to stretch and then walk the yards and check on the gardens. Once it stopped with the wetness from the skies I was able to check on everything and while the grasses were soaked everything looked good, but we need sunshine to bring on the veggies. I did put and end to 3 more huge horned worms and two were loaded with larvae on their backs which would have destroyed the peppers and tomato plants if I hadn't found them.
I did notice the half runner beans have a couple mature enough to harvest but I hate to get into the garden and pack it down when its so wet. The forecast was for sunny skies and 70's for today (Fri.) but its sure not looking like it thus far. We did take a mid morning hike to the top of the mountain and Nancy is doing much better as she is getting more into shape and we stopped and visited with Billy and Paula for quite a spell before heading back down to the cabin. We wore our gum boots on the hike as everything was still wet despite the rain had stopped for the day.
Well it wasn't much I could do except pull some weeds from the flower beds and then watch the war in Israel before we ate an early supper since we were heading to our Bible study couples class in Sparta at one of the couples house. It was going on 9'ish before we broke up and then made a stop at the Food Lion for some items for Saturday's birthday party at the Frankis place for 3 year old Seth. We got his gift delivered yesterday and its a tractor trailer with trucks which he loves playing with. The Ray's won the night before and are 2 out of 3 wins thus far on the road. They had the night off last night.
We saw lots of deer out and about both going to the class and then again after dark on the way home. I got my innards for the gas grille in the mailbox, so I'll work on that today since its too wet to mow. Not much else except after a hot shower I soon hit the sack for some horizontal lab. Not sure what time Nancy came in but she is snoring now in the bedroom and has become a night owl and a sleep in, LATER
