Monday Morning Sept 25th

Well Sunday was mostly overcast with cool temps but no rain on the first Fall day. We are starting to see some leaf colors and lots of leafs on the ground from this last rain and wind. Steve and I took a late afternoon hike to the top of the mountain and we were surprised at the number of leaves on the ground. Sunday also was a corporate worship day at Cornerstone and then lunch out at the pizzeria in Sparta with the Frankis Family. We then had the Nymark's for supper and card games until 10'ish.

I started the day with my usual 6'ish rollout to my routines that start with some quiet time to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name, except for Eddie all seem to be holding however our dear sweet friend Clarence isn't doing so well, but he was in church this morning. Everyone else is holding as I make this post. I picked up the Nymark's and we rode together to church then eating out afterwards. We love the lunch special and then it was a stop at the Food Lion for a couple items before heading back on the mountain.

I tuned into the Ray's game on the laptop and the NFL games on TV while Nancy did her Bible study for Monday night. The Ray's lost again to the Jay's and the Bucs don't play until Monday night. So I really didn't much care who won the other games. There was a few surprise upsets but nothing that drew my attention. Steve and Sheri came and we took a hike and then we played cards before and after they had some supper which I skipped because of the big lunch. We did later in the evening have brownies and vanilla ice cream while playing cards.

The guys won big the last couple of day for a change with winning at spades in the rubber match and then three games in a row of hand and foot last evening. We did hear some whining but I won't mention who, oh well, but it was fun and the evening flew by with fellowship. We will be alone for a couple days as the Nymark's head over to see Sheri's mom in Gatlinburg for a couple day. Neighbor Gerald blessed us with some frozen deer and pork meat as they headed back to Winston. The deer have being doing a number on my beets and pepper plants in the backwoods garden at night. I still have a dozen or more large peppers to harvest, as they just eat the plants and not the fruit, oh well, LATER
