Well Tuesday saw us with cloudy overcast skies during the morning hours and sometime just before noon we did get our first rain in weeks. It wasn't much but did wet the roads and shortly after the 10 minute shower the sun and wind came out and dried it up, oh well. The humidity abated but the warm temps stayed until this front finally comes into the area. I understand the mountains are finally getting a much needed soaking rain thus lessening the threat of wild fires and ending the drought.
I started the day with my usual 6'ish rollout and then had my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble. Afterwards I spent a few quiet moments with my Creator in thanksgiving especially for Paw Paw as he is at his middle daughters house in Wardensville, W.Va. where he is spending the night before going over to an adult living facility while he gains his total strength back. I spoke with him by phone and he sounded good as he starts this convalescent for the next month or so. He will be close to daughter Dee in Stephens City which is just north of Woodstock.
I headed out to the rec on my bike for a good hour and half workout on the pickle ball court. We had 4, A players and played non stop for that period which left me with a wet shirt. The stamina and getting back into shape feels good as well as the loss of a few pounds. It's going to be hard to maintain over the next couple of weeks with all of the rich foods and baked goodies but I'm determined to stay away from the many cookies already in the freezer. Nancy made buckeyes which have one of my favorite ingredients peanut butter, yeow did they ever look good but I stayed away and put nary a one in the pie hole, oh well.
Nancy was at the hair dressers then shopped for GG and Betsy before picking me up to head over to GG's for a lunch of pasta fagioli soup and ham salad sandwiches both of which were very tasty. It was the day for pasta as Nancy later in the day made spaghetti for supper. I stayed with just one small helping of each which was the hardest part as I've always been a big portion eater. I made a couple stops on the way home and then I settled into a Ken Follett book for the rest of the afternoon. I checked on the gardens when I got home from the rec and gave it a good hand watering. Everything is growing and looks healthy and I think our collards are big enough for a mess as the plants have several large leaves and need pruning back.
Bobby called as he is one step closer to becoming a deputy sheriff as he passed his polygraph and is now scheduled for the next steps which seem to be close to becoming a reality for him. We are proud of his decisions while at the same time fearful of the lack of respect by the thug society that has decided to kill and maim needlessly law enforcement officers. I think that is a direct result of this present potus actions who has added credence to their disregard for the rule of law while promoting them in a white house visit. It's so shameful that race relations have become so much more worst under the man who is half black and was supposed to mend any relations between the races. It has become just the opposite with this man's biased and inept leadership. He will be gone in a few days and then we will have a real leader for all folks of course except the special interests who will be out of power and are having a fit, LATER
