Well Monday turned out to be a busy day that started out with the lows as high as it got in the mountains. Wow was it ever hot and humid here and after pickle ball I took the lawn mower and mulched up that yard full of grass and weeds that finally dried out. My shirt was dripping sweat from the heat. This morning at the cabin it's in the 40's, oh what a feeling I miss being here in this oven like conditions.
The morning started with a 6:30 roll out, a cup of tea then a few quiet moments before a lite breakfast of oatmeal with some molasses before a ride on the bike to the rec. We had 7 players to start with then an old friend from law enforcement showed up and that made enough players to run 2 courts. The play was fast and furious with some nice rallies. I stayed until 10 and was worn out before riding home on the bike. I finished the book IMPOSSIBLE ODDS about the Seal rescues of 2 humanitarian workers in Somali one of whom was a young American female. The book is an awesome read about that rescue but mostly about the deplorable conditions of that country and its people.
After the mulching job which took an hour or more with several rest stops in the shade of the back yard oak shade, Amy and Sam came for lunch. Nancy had gone to the rec for a workout on the treadmill so she got a little workout as well. I changed clothes then spent the rest of the afternoon recuperating while Nancy was off to do some shopping. We headed over about 5:45 to pick up GG and head to Amy and Tyler for supper. Yeow we had some Kansas beef in the form of burgers with bacon, jalapenos, pickle, tomato, onion and lettuce. Delicious meat and Nancy made oven taters to go along with a broccoli salad. Amy also made a carrot cake and everything was delicious.
We stayed and played with kids and then I listen while Ava read her homework to me. She is reading very well as a 1st grader and Sam is doing quite well with figuring out a puzzle we worked on together. He is all boy and with a vivid imagination as well. We headed out for GG's around 8 then visited with her for a few before heading home to watch the Rays play the Rangers. The Rays played awesome in all areas and was even cheated out of a run by the outfield umps as they missed a trapped ball that gave the Rays and extra run. They won 5-2 and next move to Cleveland on Thursday for a 1 game playoff.
Well that was about it as we watched the game until the end which was going on midnight, LATER
