Well Friday morning was my last pickle ball play until next year which really is only about 2 weeks away as we leave for the mountains on Monday morning. It was rather chilly to start the day as well and the ride to the Rec on my bike was an eye watering ride as well. It did warm up to the middle 50's for the high of the day but the stiff northern breeze made it feel even colder. I know 40 is a heat wave compared to the the teens we will be facing next week and the forecast is for snow in the mountains. I sure hope these two weeks during the winter is not a bad choice to be on the road.
After my start for the day which is always a cup of hot green tea while I post this ramble and my quiet times to give thanks and lift up several by name to my Creator and Lord for comfort and healing i headed out. We had a small crew this morning but I got in several good matches before calling it quits and heading home in a stiff chilly breeze. I changed clothes and put on some warmer ones and rode my bike to get a hair cut. Luckily I didn't have to wait and got in right away. Patti has been cutting my hair for close to 20 years and she is now a grand mother with her grand child keeping her company. Evelie is a beautiful 3 years old and very active.
I headed home with the wind at my back and hand watered the gardens until lunch time. It did finally around 2'ish warm up enough to be comfortable outside but when the sun set it turned cold again. I read most of the afternoon after getting down our suitcases from the attic and the coolers as we will transport some food stuff with us as well as load up at Sam's in Columbia, S.C. for the next two weeks of family eating. We headed out around 4 ish for Keswick School to watch Ava's JV team beat a local public school team by 30 points or more. She was awesome with her play, great scoring, rebounding and making assists. She is very tenacious on the court with constant hustle. I must say she is a star along with two other girls who are the team.
We stayed and watched the varsity play and they too beat their opponents by 20 points. We saw many old friends and BridgePoint Church attenders at the game. I'm hoping they come back to Seminole after we get the new church buildings. Many of these left when the college closed up our meeting place and headed to where there was a weekly gathering in house to worship. BridgePoint is still open at the main campus in St.Pete but the Seminole campus is still meeting in houses and on line. We were having close to 500 on Sundays at times and even more when we first introduced the campus to the city of Seminole, but since the shut down by the virus that number has been reduced considerably although we still have a core group. GOD is good in that we will have a debt free campus once we move in house.
We made a Chick' filet stop after the game and brought it home to eat around 8'ish. I'm not use to eating that late but it worked out. Their food is delicious, hot and quick and reasonable when compared to the greasy burgers from most fast food joints. It wasn't long I was in the hot shower and tuned into a college football game. Today Saturday we head over to Brandon to celebrate the boys first birthday with a party and then we will pack on Sunday and leave around 4 on Monday morning, LATER
