Well Monday once again was an ideal weather day; lots of bright sunshine and cool temps to start the day and by late afternoon it was in the high 70's. Still NO humidity to speak of and the evenings cool down rapidly as the sun sets. The garden is loving this weather. We had our usual lunch crowd but other than that no much happened except for my morning pickle ball.
I roll out a little after 6 once again and did my morning routines of a few quiet moments to honor my Creator and then the posting of this ramble. A couple of us pickle ball players had planned on playing outside at the Rec on the only lined pickle ball court at 8 AM. The gym floors are being refinished and will be closed all of this week as the Seminole Pow -Wow happens on the grounds starting Wednesday. So we will play outside again today(Tues). Yesterday we had 5 players show up and one of them was a gal visiting from up north and she was quite good. We played for 2 hours outside which is a completely different game with the sun and wind to contend with; but we had a good workout with a wet shirt at the end.
I stopped off at the library for a couple new reads before heading home on my bike to water the gardens. I did harvest a nice mess of fresh lettuces and sugar peas as well as a couple green onions. I'm getting a few ripe tomato's and the green beans need picking again. It's been a great garden season so far with no real cold damage as I think only a couple frosts happened but none made it through the trees to damage my plants. I still have plenty of old oak leaves hanging on the trees which will soon fall as the new fuzzies should be out by now. The cool nights seem to have the trees in confusion about the start of the new leafing out season.
Amy dropped Eliza Faye off while she grocery shopped for the week and we were pals. She likes her juice box right a way and then wants her snacks while we waited on Nancy to get back from her workout. She likes the elephant cartoons which we watch on the laptop and now she names the animals in the cartoon. She is such a cutie and is now carrying her own play cell phone in her purse while she shops in the play room. She imitates her mom shopping.
We had pizzas for lunch loaded with fresh mushrooms and I finished the last of the deer tacos meat with red pepper and sour cream on a tortilla wrap, yeow was that ever delicious. We decided to thaw out some spiral sliced ham for supper which reminded Nancy of sugar cured ham when fried with a fresh garden salad and a baked sweet tater. Once again we were eating healthy. I spent the afternoon reading while Nancy took her mom shopping. We tuned into the FOX News channel and then I watched our Lightning hockey team loose their first game after 9 straight wins which set a club record. They seemed to be in slow motion on the ice, but I think are still in first place in their division.
We spoke with our "mountain mom" Helen and she said the weather was beautiful there with temps up in the 60's. The wind keeps it rather chilly in the shade but there was lots of sunshine. The spring flowers are popping up everywhere as well. After a hot shower it wasn't long till the the sandman calleth at 10 PM for me, LATER
