Well we are half through this month and well on the way to a new year, sure hope the next year is better than this one, though I shouldn't complain because I'm still running around playing pickle ball almost daily, gardening, eating with most of my teeth and still have my hair, although its turning a little grey. Most of all I'm above ground and can still think for myself with a clear mind and remember who I am, Thank God for all of those benefits.
I started the day on Wednesday much the usual to my usual cup of hot green tea while I posted this ramble and then spent a few moments in humble thanksgiving to my Creator and Lord as well as lifted up several by name. All seem well or holding as of this day yet many are fighting cancer, this insidious virus as well as age related health issues. Please continue to lift up our Potus Trump and those who still have some integrity and honest concerns for our nation because it seems almost daily we are learning just how corrupt many are in their desire to destroy America for personal gain. There are those in position of influence and power who will stop at nothing to make America a socialist nation and rid the country of our constitution and bill of rights which is what has made this nation so successful and the love of our Judeo-Christian principles upon which those two are based on.
I headed out before 8 on my bike to the Rec. for two hours of continuous pickle ball play. It felt like a spring morning in the mountains and by 10'ish it had warmed up into the 70's and stayed that way most of the day until a front moved in after lunch giving us some much needed rain. I did piddle around in the garden setting into the ground more tomato seedlings. I hoed weeds which seem to grow over night and turned over more of the garden as I get it ready for more planting. It looks as if most everything I have set out is going to make toward harvesting at a later date.
I finish John Jakes book AMERICAN DREAMS and it is a page turner to say the least. An historical novel right up until the WWI era. A must read if your a history buff. We had been invited for a turkey dinner with the Tracy's and Botbyl's at 5:30 so Nancy made smashed taters and can corn to take up and we dined on a roasted turkey breast along with our fixin's. Delicious to say the least. I had some of that leftover French silk pie which is one of my fav's and Kathryn makes it so well. Afterwards we play a 6 hand game of spades and the gals wiped the floor with us guys. We then settled into a documentary on the rapture and what it will be like according to the book of Revelation here on earth before, during and after. It's never been my favorite book in the Bible as the horror that it speaks of for those who have never made Jesus their Lord and personal savior. Most of my friends and colleagues are all Believers to some extent although I have a few friends who are some what suspect but thats not for me to judge, only GOD knows their heart.
Well we got back to the house around 9:30 and it was hot shower time and soon off to some horizontal lab, LATER
Sweet Palmer Grace the grand daughter of the Botbyl's came for a visit and to sample some of the last of the Christmas cookies
