Friday Morning

Well Thursday was another work day that started once again with a 6'ish roll out to my usual morning routines and my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then took a few minutes to honor my Creator with thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All of those are doing as well as can be expected however I've been unable to contact Paw Paw as he is really starting to lose his short term memory and hasn't answered his phone lately for some reason. I think he is getting ready to move in with the middle daughter Pat in W.Va. permanently.

After a breakfast of buckwheat cakes and bacon I headed out to check on the gardens and decided to work in the yards until it was time to hike to the top of the mountain. I fed some of the new lettuces which are showing some color after just three days from sowing seeds. The rest of the garden is doing fine except for the beans which starting showing some rust but I think that was from hand watering the plants with a hose, anyhow I've noticed the new beans are looking blemish free and some are ready for picking. I'm trying to resurrect the cucumber plants and while the vines did show lots of brown leaves the ends of the plants are showing new leaves and lots of blooms with new fruit, oh well.

I started raking the moss which looked as if the lime was starting to cause it to die as it was turning to a lighter green in color which was totally different that what it looked like before I heavily limed the area. I raked up several golf cart loads and gave the grass a chance to breath. It amazing how quickly moss can choke out and blanket an area. We took off on our hike and saw neighbor Gerald and a friend up on the backwoods road constructing another deer stand. They offered to help me load a couple of railroad ties on to Gerald's truck and deliver them to the cabin. I drug them down the hill with the golf cart and a chain.

After lunch I was back out under the trees raking another area saturated with moss until nearly 3'ish when if really became quite hot and humid. I knew I was playing pickle ball at 6'ish so I headed to the basement to clean up and cool off because chilling for the rest of the afternoon until supper time. I watched some of the hearing on the confirmation of the new judge to the Supreme Court and the Dem's really just will not approve of anything our Potus picks. It's so disgusting to see and hear their questions and remarks to a highly qualified man who wiped the floor with them. This man will make a great constitution upholding judge to the court and not an activist judge the Dem's want.

Well after a supper of leftovers which were awesome I headed out to Roaring Gap for two hours of pickle ball with three other players. We were soaked in no time with sweat from the continuous play with long rallies. We finished play under the lights. It wasn't long after a hot shower and a few minutes to unwind I headed in to read for a few before it was lights out for me before 10, LATER
