Saturday Morning August 8th

Well Friday started out rather nice but the dew was so heavy coming off the tin roof it was dripping as if it were raining. The temps were in the low 60's and it almost was chilly in the afternoon as the skies clouded up and it looked like rain. We had an afternoon visitor we had not seen since last year. He built our place back in the 90's and did a fine job at a very reasonable cost. I did most of the finish work but he put the place together and then he and his family became very close friends until he lost his place and had to move out of the county. Ray Todd is a fine man despite his upbringing by a moonshiner who passed at an early age and left the responsibility of him to raise his younger siblings of which there were several.

I started the day much the usual with a well before 6 roll out. Nancy wondered out some where around 8'ish as she stays up past midnight; me I'm in bed by 10 at the latest as I love the early morning ambiance. I did my usual's that start with the hot tea while I post this ramble and the my quiet time honoring my Creator and lifting up several to mention their names to him for healing. I'm healing as well as the swelling in the foot and leg are gone. I'm still on that blood thinner and will be on it until at least Sept the 3rd when I go back for another checkup. I'm hoping the back and leg heal completely. I'm still taking it some what easy but did put on the back brace and did some gardening during the morning hours.

We were suppose to meet up with friends for the evening but Nancy was having some tummy issues and the foods we were preparing just exacerbated those issues so we cancelled until today(sat) as we had nothing on the social calendar. Tomorrow (sun)we are having the Luffman's for supper and games which is always a treat. They have become family here in the mountains. We spoke with Bobby and Amy as well as close friends we are traveling to Alaska with next May. Nancy is on the phone constantly through out the day with neighbors and her sister in Florida. We got word our friends the Tracy's will be having their first grand child which is a boy. We are thrilled for them as of now it's been only grand dogs who they pamper.

Well that was about it as we had delicious supper of sweet taters, corn on the cob and fried chicken breasts. After supper I wondered out and about in the gardens and flower beds then settled in to watching some sailing videos on You Tube. These shows featured a specific sailing boat that stops in  all these exotic places and the underwater pics are fantastic. For years an old friend of mine and I wanted to get on board one of these yachts and sail around the world but it's not looking as if that will ever happen. My yacht is here in the mountain on this hilly piece of land. Speaking of land I got my taxes for here and it went up over a hundred bucks this year which is still not bad considering what I pay for a 60x100 foot lot in Seminole with a block house and nothing fancy and I can spit on my neighbors house its that close, oh well, LATER

One thing Ray didn't do when building our place was to put in a shower in the upstairs bathroom, so we added one last year and his health is so bad he could barely get up the porch steps. Nancy took some pics so he could see what we had done last year upstairs. Here are those pics of the shower and the bathroom.
