Well Sunday started out a little on the chilly side but quickly warmed up to t-shirt and shorts temps it was also a day of corporate worship both on line and then in person at our local church where we worked the side doors greeting and welcoming folks. We both love this aspect of making folks welcome and greeting them with hugs, handshakes and smiles. A missionary who grew up in our church as a kid gave a very good message sharing many of the facts and obstacles he and his family face while sharing the gospel in a foreign land and the need for many on the mission field. We came straight home afterwards as Nancy was making a cake for the birthday celebration for Sam and Nancy later in the evening at Amy's house with all of the family in attendance. Sam will be 15 as I stand corrected from yesterdays post and Nancy will be 68.
I did paint over the ugly paint swatches on the front of the houses so as to relieve a couple of neighbors who voiced there concern for the bright paint samples we had on the house. I used up a couple of the samples to paint over some areas as well on the back of the house, since we had 5 samples and two them were quart sizes. I'll find a use for them as well along the foundation that can be used as a second coat or a primer, oh well.
I took a break for a couple hours and watched some girls college basketball games as I love watching our girls team from Keswick. We are looking forward to the game on Tuesday in Lakeland against a powerhouse team who beat a team that beat us once before by 30 points earlier in the season, oh well. After that game we will head over to Gabe's championship game in flag football and then to the baseball game with the twins at 6:30 in Brandon. It will be a full day of watching grands play sports.
The birthday celebration featured store bought pizza and a garden fresh salad as well as strawberries and ice cream and Nancy's delicious chocolate cake with white icing for dessert. We left around 8'ish and headed home to watch some ALONE on the TV after watching the Lightning win their hockey game, LATER
