Well the adventures never stopped as we took a 3 plus hour ride in our new kayaks down a section of the New River after church on Sunday. We spent the morning in worship at Cornerstone then lunch with our friends; the Tracy's, the Carlans, Mechelle, Kallie and Caleb Dalton and Kallie's beau Juan at the Pizzeria landmark in Sparta.
Well the morning started with such quietness around the cabin after the last week of little feet patter on the wood floors around day break. We sure miss those little sweet punkins and their parents as well. Mechelle Dalton offered us an afternoon river trip which helped with getting us out of our empty cabin mood and it was such a beautiful day on this new section called the Nile. The float was perfect with a few white water rapids but none large enough to be classified or to write home about. We met up with another couple of "yaker's" who also floated with us most of the way as well.
We did our morning routines of a few quiet moments to honor our Creator then listened to our pastor at Bridgepoint Church in St.Pete live on the Internet as we got ready to leave the cabin around 9:30. It was boring oatmeal with fresh fruit, cinnamon and honey for breakfast for me and Nancy followed suit except she adds some crunchy dry cereal to hers. We sure had some great breakfasts with some of the best bacon ever that sister Dee brought to the cabin last week. It came in a 4 pound package and we ate that up with the family as they marveled at the taste and perfection of this local product from Virginia.
Pastor B at Cornerstone had a great message on "how so little and be made into such greatness with GOD in the picture" with the feeding of the 5 Thousand with a boys lunch of 4 loaves and 2 fishes. Two of the gospels have added some additional aspects of this miracle especially one which tells of the leftovers which filled 12 baskets from this meager meal after all were satisfied of their hunger. We seem to forget and take GOD out of the picture as we try to do it on our own and that is the biggest problem with our nation and our people with such divisiveness. It is becoming so rampart with hatred and bigotry as we have forgotten our roots in the Judeo-Christian life style that it has now become fatal to those who especially keep us safe from the lawlessness of fanatics and terrorists. Never would I have thought to see such disdain in our land for what is good and just and I think it all started when this potus was elected.
Well it was a great ending to a beautiful day and as I write this post it so quiet here at the cabin with some dew dripping onto the tin roof from the upper dormer and the sound of a lonely crow off in the distance. Nancy is trying to catch up on her sleep as she was up after midnight most of last week and my internal alarm goes off at 6 no matter when I hit the sack, LATER
