Thursday Morning

Well we are here for another day as we got some good news from the Miami Rehab Facility that GG made it through the first night. This was the same place where some 7 weeks ago or more she spent approximately 5 hours before being carted off in an ambulance to the hospital after being released the evening before. Nancy video chatted with her and she seemed in good spirits, back on solid foods and grand daughter Eric was at her bedside visiting as she lives just across the street and walks to visit her. This is a big plus for everyone. Now we just want GG to get strong enough to stand, walk and control her bathroom issues and then we can get her back to Seminole hopefully for some quality of life at her advanced age. I must say she is a fighter and I never expected her to ever reach this rehab facility again. Thanks to All who kept her in your thoughts and prayers because without it she never would have made it.

Well our day started with a sleep in until nearly 7'ish. We had entertained our "mountain mom" the evening before and while I usually am up at before 6 ish the cool night air had me snuggling deep within the covers. It seems a front passed through the night and dropped the temps down to the upper 50's and the breeze made it feel even colder. We didn't get much out of the low 70's for the whole day as a overcast kept the temps down and the breeze made it perfect for working outside and that's just what we did after breakfast and the bug man from Orkin left.

I headed own to scrape some of the loose gravel into the center of the lane that was making it difficult to get up the hill even with the lock rear end. The loose gravel was 5-6 inches thick right where I needed traction and could not get any. I was making two running starts to finally get up the hill with much tire spinning. Now I can get down to the hard surface for traction plus it looked as if it was going to rain which would help even more with packing the driveway. I also cleaned out a couple culverts on the way back that was clogged with leaves and debris from the winter and made some channels for the rain to run off the road into the ditches.

I decided since the news was so good on GG to rotor till the front circle drive and sow the Zinnia seeds I had saved from last year. I headed up to Joe and Jetta's and retrieved the tiller and worked that piece of ground for an hour or more working up a good sweat despite the dry cool air. Nancy was outside on her knees pulling weeds from her flower gardens and cutting back some dead head flowers. After sowing the circle bed I decided to maybe put in a late garden in the upper bed. So I put the tiller to work and for the next hour or more turned that bed up as well and sowed some old 1/2 runner bean seeds I had saved from lat year. I didn't bring my collection of seeds from Florida because I wasn't planning on any gardening this summer but will pickup a few seeds today when we go to town today for some supplies and a new water heater.

We were whipped by 5:30 and decided to quit never getting in our daily hike. It was a workout in the yards and gardens and our muscles were sore and give out. We had a fresh salad with left over chicken breasts for our supper and it was delicious. I had two kale plants that either survived the winter or reseeded itself and I picked several nice leaves to add to the lettuces. We sat and watched the Fox news channel after the cleanup. I'm beginning to think Tucker Carlson is as good if not better at interviewing as Bill O'Reilly and may even be better. I noticed one question inparticular that he asked the vice president about congress and their family and staff regarding their enrollment in the present health care called Obamacare and they are ALL exempt. Trump can change that with an executive order and if so why doesn't he do that. We all need to get on the phone to the WH and demand that the gov't leaders have the same health we have and then we will see something done. I think and I hope Trump has the brashness to do just that and if so things will start moving, oh well, LATER
