Well Thursday was a mixture of fun and some work around the cabin and once again a tremendous thunder /rain storm that saw hail in some areas of the county. We just had rain pouring down so hard it reminded me of those Florida cloud bursts. Thankfully it only lasted a short time but it kept everything with high humidity and damp. We had a large crowd for supper as the Tracy's came up from Florida and the Luffman's as well.
The day started with my usual 6'ish rollout to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then lifted up several to my Creator for healing. All seem as well as can be expected at this point in time. We got word an old friend from out previous church in Seminole, who was up there close to a hundred before she passed away after a short illness. Everyone else seems to be holding their own. Amy called last night and it seems the drain pipe on the a/c unit at home is plugged which shut off the unit and dumped water in the garage. I did locate a neighbor who is an a/c person who will come out tomorrow with Amy and unplug the system and hopefully get in back in operation.
Our guests left for the Wellness Center after awakening so I did some yard work and wanted to check out the overhaul on the weed whacker. It worked OK but I'm not sold on the new head which doesn't seem to release the string as easy as before, oh well I got the yards groomed and was intending to mow when it started to rain softly. The big storm came later in the evening which was a gully washer. I put three racks of pork ribs on the smoker and had them going by 11'ish and they smoked for about 5 hours or so with applewood. They turned out delicious and the meat fell off the bone when we sat down to eat around 6. I did harvest another couple cucumbers which Nancy sliced up into a salad with onions and vinegar. Nice and crunchy.
Well the Ray's won again in Boston and now are in second place over the previous World Series Champs. After the supper of half runner beans, scallop taters, cucumber salad and ribs we had some homemade sounker made from ruhbarb and strawberry along with blueberry cobbler with whip cream that Kay brought was delicious. We then got into an 8 person game of Sequence and the gals cleaned house with a 4-0 shellacking, yikes. I was interrupted with the news from Amy about the a/c unit in Seminole which seemed to take away from my concentration while calling folks and lining up a tech to work on it; but 4-0. Anyhow we always have fun as the gals always accuse me of cheating which is unfounded, oh well. They headed out around 9'ish which was late for them so I settled into the Ray's game and everyone else into some TV show.
I hit the shower around 10:30 which was late for me and finally some horizontal lab, LATER
