Well the Ross Family just pulled out for Seminole, Fl. I sure hope the electric power is restored for them as of last night those who came back to the area were still without power and for those whom didn't leave in the wake of Irma it's been absolutely miserable. There is no ice in the area an no perishable items in the grocery store of which many are still closed down due to the lack of power. We tried to talk them in to staying another day but they wanted to get back and check on their house after being away for a week. It was sad to see them as we really a vacation style week with some great eatin', lots of hikes and golf cart rides as well as fun bug catching and just playing outside for the kiddos. Tyler worked from here in the upstairs bedroom usually from 8 to 5 so he didn't miss out on his job.
Well Wednesday saw the sun come out after a rainy day on Tuesday which kept all of us inside throughout the day. We had 3 1/2 inches of rain in my gauge and it did rain a little last evening. The forecast is for nearly perfect weather this next 4 to 5 days with the highs in the middle 70's and lows in the 50's at nights. Everyone got to experience some 40's which required the heat being on for several mornings to take the chill off the cabin. I took the kiddos on several rides and we found three newts during the day which gave everyone some pleasure. We got in a late afternoon hike except for Tyler who worked late. The vistas were beautiful on top of the mountain and we found a new way to get Eliza to walk the total distance; we found a nice stick horse for her to ride and did she ever have fun making a trail in the road with Sparkle her stick horse.
We cleaned up the leftover soup along with fresh bakery bread and a garden salad for our supper as well as pork barbecue sandwiches for lunch. It was the week for pork as we had sausage, bacon, soup with Italian sausage, smoked barbecue butts and spareribs with sauerkraut, yeow all of which was excellent in taste. Well it's back to the routine for the mornings for another week before we head back for Annsley and Gabe's birthday celebrations and to visit with GG if she is still in Miami. We aren't sure if we will be able to find a hotel or a BB to stay while visiting her for her 79th birthday on Oct first, LATER
