Friday Morning October 8th

Well Thursday except for the real early morning was a total wash out. It had rained off and on all night but just for a couple hours it let up enough that I could get in my early morning hike to the top of the mountain; of course it was a total white out there with a fog bank surrounding the top. I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my routines that starts with the cup of hot tea while I post this ramble and then some quiet time to honor my Creator and Lord giving thanks and lifting several up by name for comfort and healing. We got word that our neighbor on top was being flown up here to spend his last dying days as per his wishes. It seems his cancer and now pneumonia has set in and they giving him just this weekend and lots of family members are attending here also.

Nancy was going to making a pot of chicken soup for our friends the Nymark's who were arriving later in the day but decided since sister Dee and Mike cancelled due to health issues to take the soup up to the Davis Family and have the Nymark's today for supper as they were getting in late and had lots to do at their campground on their arrival. It worked out well and we even had a moments break in the rain to deliver the soup and bread while using the golf cart. We met the grand daughters family who had flown in from Hawaii as the dad is in the Navy. We had met them a couple years ago and they have 4 kiddos and another on the way.

Well the rain has become an issue with not being able to get out and about and we are hoping for a break over the weekend. I'm glad I was able to get in an early morning hike but the rest of my exercise came from washing pots and pans throughout the day from Nancy's food preps and lifting the fork to eat; not good for the spare tire, oh well. We are hoping to go down to Mt Airy for the Fall Leaf Festival on Saturday and show the Nymark's the town. Their daughter and hubby are coming in from Las Vegas for a week and we are hoping this rain goes away as it will be tough to be stuck in a camper. We also are going with them on the Creeper Trail and after being stuck in the rain for 17 miles in total rain years ago it's not one of my favorite exercises to do. If the weather holds we want to hike the Stone Mountain trail and maybe even a flow down the New River in kayak's. Any how we have a week with them.

Well I tuned into the Ray's first playoff game at the Trop and Bobby, Tyler, Sam and Gabe were there and saw the Ray's win 5-0. They play again tonight so we will tune in with the Nymarks coming for supper, LATER
