Well Friday was not a typical day weather wise for Florida despite lots of sunshine. The temps stayed below normal with the strong northern breeze that kept us in long sleeves, pants and a jacket for the day. When I rode out on my bike around 7'ish it was down right cold and my eyes watered all the way to the rec, of course this was nothing compared to what our friends in the mountains are experiencing.
The day started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out. After my quiet time and a lite breakfast I pedaled out for some 2 hours of pickle ball with about a dozen or so other players. We had a mixture of A and B players with a couple new players down for a couple weeks from the frozen north. I had a wet shirt by 10 and was ready for a break as I was able to partner up and win for most of the morning. I made a stop at the library on the way home. Nancy was at her Friday morning Bible study group at SFBC despite the pain from her root canal. The naproxin(Alieve) has helped to take away the throbbing pain so she can function to some degree.
I harvested lettuces, beet greens, kale and sugar peas for a salad and got them ready for Nancy to add other veggies for a huge salad for lunch along with GG's famous meat loaf sandwiches. I skipped the bread as I can feet the spare tire inflating once again from the taters and bread I've eaten this week. I made a guacamole and had it ready for lunch of which I slathered on my meat loaf instead of the bread. It was very delicious and the avocado's came from my neighbors tree which is loaded. They are a little darker than the one's we buy in the store but I like them especially since they were free. This tree is loaded with fruit and they don't eat them.
Amy, GG and all three of the Ross kiddos came for lunch as Ava had the day off. After lunch we played with them and then Amy, GG and Ava went shopping so Nancy got Eliza to sleep and Sam played with Lego's. I headed into the reading room and finished another book. After they left I vacuumed and then we ate the left over rotisserie chicken and salad for supper. We spoke with our mountain mom, Helen and boy is it cold up there and forecasted with really cold temps the next couple days. Wow, what a cold winter in the mountains. Well that was about it for the day as we settled into the Fox News channel for most of the evening except for the Alaskan shows which came on at 9, LATER
