Wednesday Morning Sept 4th

Well Tuesday was a work morning and then off to Galax, Va. in the afternoon to see a movie, shopping and then supper out at a small cafe. I had started the day with my usual 5:30 rollout depending on how much Nancy is snoring and this morning it started very early so I'm up for the day at 4:30. Seems she can not hear it but I'm thinking of moving upstairs tonight, oh well.

I did my usual morning routines that begin with some quiet moments after posting this ramble to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name, all seem to be holding with this post. I headed out around day break to stretch and then walk around the gardens and yards for the next hour or so for some exercise. The brat doe has stayed away for the last several days so no deer damage to any of the garden or flower beds. Maybe she has found something better to eat and that just thrills me.

I piddled around outside until the a/c service guy came at 8:30 and cleaned my mini split and then  checked it out for operation, which has been good for the past several years. The inside unit on the main floor needed a good cleaning, although I keep the filters cleaned, but the outside unit had lots of lint from the dryer vent which is over head and some what blows down on to the back of the unit. He sprayed some strong cleaner and then hosed that off and said everything checked out good. Now I'm just waiting for the bill.

I fired up the small chainsaw and headed up into the backwoods to work up some fallen trees for the stump burn and it ran fine then all of sudden it quit running. Not sure why but acts like a carburetor issue so I'll work on that this morning. I did have enough wood sawed up so I'll burn again today. I'm thinking two more burns and I should have it down to ground level and can cover it with dirt and sow grass seeds. I may have to drill a few holes today in it as well to help with the burn.

I loaded up 3 empty propane tanks and head to Galax after lunch to have them filled at 14 bucks a tank which was different than what use to be advertised at 10 bucks, its still a bargain on Tuesday at 14 as every other day its 17 and most places in Sparta are more than that. Nancy did some shopping at Food City which she really likes and its next door to the 3 screen movie theater, so I gassed up as well at 2.97 which is cheaper than Sparta for a change which is still 3.09. We also got a break at the movie for 5 bucks each to see Forge, a much advertised flick in the christian world. Well let me say its has to be one of the best ever and with a great message for all of US(A) and while it teaches Biblical principles it also teaches manners, respect and the what use to be the American dream that hard work rewards you along with these principles, which is a plus and helps you succeed in life and the real world. All of America needs to see this movie which I must admit is the first I've been to in decades. I'm not a fan of Hollywood especially those who are woke and speak down from a privileged position.

We stopped at Saddle Mountain cafe around 6:45 and they were closing at 7 , but insisted we had plenty of time for a meal. Nancy had the barbecue plate and I had the country ham plate, tasty and plentiful and while they were closed by the time we got our food they were very friendly and went about the business of cleaning the kitchen and the small dining area; making small talk while we ate. I can remember taking the kids there to eat when they were pre teens and of course its changed hands a couple times since then. We got back to the cabin before dark and I settled into the Ray's game and then did a live interview video for grandson Sam for a class project. After the Ray's held on to win against the Twins I hit the shower and read until 10'ish, and then some horizontal, LATER
