Well its so foggy and wet here at the cabin and it cooled off as well that we are missing the Florida sunshine. Now I know that is a stretch but after so many days except for Sunday of fog and rain that has kept us in the cabin, we want to go outside and play, oh well. Just for the record this is the 9th day of August and there has been some fog or rain every day this month so that tells us it will be a snowy winter if this old wives tale is true that for every fog day in August its a snow day in winter.
Well I actually slept in until 7'ish to start the day as we have been watching the Olympics into the late hours. We awakened to a soft rain and fog so thick is wasn't possible to see beyond the porches. I did my usual morning routines that started with a cup of hot turmeric tea to wash down a handful of Nutrilite vitamins and supplements then posted this ramble and finally to spend some quiet moments with my Creator before having a breakfast burrito to start the gastric juices flowing. Nancy wanted to watch the equestrian events of the Olympics that was to start at 9 so we had the TV on all day which is very unusual but there was nothing we could do outside. I finished my read so it was watch TV or play around on the Internet which we did except for eating. I did manage in the late afternoon to check the gardens picking more cucumbers and jalapeno' peppers.
We cleaned up the leftover pizzas for lunch and then I grilled chicken breast for fajatis that had our home grown green peppers sauteed' along with onions. We added the last of the salsa to the wrap with some fresh jalapeno for me, yeow very tasty with a little Chrystal sauce as well. We were planning on a trip to the top of the mountain on foot but the fog came in so thick that we cancelled that especially after Nancy spoke with her sister Betsy who brought up the fact that bears were in the woods. Now we have been here over 20 years and have yet to see a bear on this side of the mountain and I'm sure if one did see us they would take off but the idea that she planted in Nancy's head now has her wanting to purchase bear spray before we hike again, unbelievable! Betsy is one to stay all night to await mountain criminals to break into your house before going to sleep at daybreak. She carries her own doorstops when she travels for added protection, oh well.
We stayed in the cabin and watched the tube until nearly midnight and saw some great USA winners as well as a few who fell short of the victory lap, oh well. From the way it looks today outside and the forecast that is what we will probably do again today, LATER
