Well Thursday started out much the usual way with an early wake up around 5:30, then my usual cup of hot green tea, a few quiet moments, then a piece of fruit before pedaling out to the rec on my bike. It was overcast and looked like rain. There was just a slight chill in the air as well which required a flannel shirt. The 10 minute or so ride was uneventful except for the lack of cars on the highway. All of the schools here are still on Christmas vacation.
We had a rather small crowd once again and with a mixture of players. We did get in a good 2 plus hours of play which left me with a wet shirt. We eventually ended up with 2 courts in action with 8 players. Afterwards I stopped off at the library for a read before heading home to work in the garden. I once again gave some of my new seedlings a drink of liquid fertilizer. We had enough rain the past couple days to eliminate hand watering for a day or so. I hung a load of laundry as the sun appeared from time to time but all that changed in the late afternoon.
The skies darkened up and we got some heavy rain once again which lasted off and on throughout the evening and night. The forecast is for more rain and strong winds that will bring in another much colder front. We are fore casted for temps to fall into the high 30's in the next 24 hours with strong winds as well. It's part of the strong front that is now hitting the north with snow, sleet and below freezing temps, yikes it looks as if it will be a big winter storm.
Nancy is still having some discomfort with her tummy. I think the dinner with all of the new year traditions did her in once again, so we ate lite for supper with a mixture of canned cream of chicken and mushroom soups. That made for some good eatin' for a change. We sat around afterwards watching the Fox News channel and then I tuned into the Alabama vs Oklahoma bowl game. The Sooners put it on the Crimson Tide with a big win. There are a couple games on tonight which should be good as well.
Well Amy and us are still waiting anxiously for this new baby to arrive on the scene. They all came along with GG for lunch and we ate some leftover garbanzo bean soup as well as salad for lunch. They visited for a couple hours afterwards as the rain kept them inside. Ava and Sam play much better together especially on their ipad. They both are very good with its operation and the games on it. I think Nancy wants one for her birthday and we will see if its worth the money. She thinks that will help entertain the grand kids when they spend the night from time to time, oh well!! LATER
