Well we said good bye to September which ended on a mild note with almost perfect weather. Low's in the 40's and highs may have reached the upper 60's with plenty of sunshine and blue skies. We have noticed the changing of the leaves in just the last couple of days. What beautiful weather after the last couple of wet foggy days.
I started the day with a sleep in until 7'ish which I'm loving and the extra blanket sure helps with staying in the warm bed. We had the heat on for a brief time but with all of these bodies it been rather comfortable as the cabin stays relatively warm. I got in a couple hikes during the day and Dan hiked with me both times and Patrick once. The gals are spending all of their energy shopping in both Sparta and Elkin and we did see a rather promising cabin for sale by an associate of ours. Nancy's hair dresser is selling their beautiful place on Spicer Mountain and moving to Charleston to be near kids and grand kid as soon as the place sells. It has tons of amenities and on 10 acres of land as well. It's surrounded by woods and just off a main road with a gated driveway. Its very nice and I think the Tracy's are very interested as would I be.
We did check out another nice place but the area is not the best off Shaw Town Road. It does have a nice barn but the area has a lot of junk cars and houses not in the best shape or cared for. We ran errands and checked out the area while the gals were down in Elkin at Cato's, a woman shoppe. We checked out the Wellness Center and the modular home business as well before seeing this cabin belonging to Brenda and George. I'm believing they may have the cabin the Tracy's are looking for as it just went on the market a day ago.
We had a delicious supper of chicken with cappers, asparagus in a white sauce and smashed taters. We skipped dessert after the delicious apple pie last night which Patrick who is a dessert freak finished when we got home in the afternoon. After our hike we(boys) got into a 3 hand game of spades which took us a couple hours to finish playing 17 hands. We finally finished after supper with me finally coming from behind to win. The gals spent the evening after supper trying on their new clothes upstairs so we watched a little baseball and played another game of Kings on the Corner before calling it a night, LATER
