Well this month is moving right along and soon we will be seeing the longest day of the year on the 21st. Where is the time going? I started the day with my usual before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet moments to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift several up by name for comfort and healing. All but Helen seem to be doing OK. She was back in the hospital with breathing issues and we haven't spoken with her since.
Yesterday was a total work day for us except after supper we played cards with Steve who joined us for a delicious supper of grilled pork chops, asparagus and buttered parsley taters, wow so delicious as does everything taste so good in the mountains. I did my first hike to the top of the mountain with Steve and did it every feel so good. I'm starting that event again hopefully each morning especially this week with Steve. We jumped a large doe as well as several squirrels on our hike.
I came back and had a breakfast of oatmeal, cinnamon, honey, walnuts, banana and a couple of strawberries. Afterwards I headed out to get the fires going in the two stumps that I'm trying to burn out. I did finished the one stump by cutting most of it out, but the two huge oak stumps will take several more days of burning to get them down to ground level which I'm hoping to do this summer.
After lunch we took a golf cart ride out to the mailboxes and then I moved some seedlings into 4 packs. I noticed what I thought was a zucchini squash plant is actually a large yellow squash with lots of little ones. I had bought 4 yellow seedlings and this one large seedlings was marked zucchini, oh well. I'll be giving away yellow squash to neighbors and at church. Everything else is looking good with tons of beautiful lettuces and the herbs are doing quite well.
After supper we played one game of hand, knee and foot and Nancy slaughtered us after losing the night before, oh well. After the game and Steve headed back to his place we hit the showers and was soon ready for some horizontal as it had been a long day for me, LATER
