Sunday Morning August 6th

Well I made it to another year on this date. It's the 38 time for celebrating another 39th birthday, WOW am I ever blessed. Many thanks to ALL who remembered me with cards, gifts and phone calls.

Saturday was another gorgeous day with cool temps to start the day with tons of sunshine and a gentle breeze. I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my routines that start with some quiet time after posting this ramble to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift several up by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding as I've heard nothing to the contrary.

I headed out after a breakfast of oatmeal with cinnamon, honey and pecans to check the gardens and then to do some dirt digging and hauling as I'm trying to smooth out the sharp drop off that use to be where the old garden was located in the lower yard. I then turned over the compost pile which still had some remnants of the decaying fish carcasses from a couple weeks back. That makes good fertilizer for next years potting soil along with all the scraps from the table. The fishing worms are working it down as well as is the composting process.

We decided to take a mid morning hike and headed down the driveway for a change and then up to check on the Nymark campground and back up towards the top of the mountain when Nancy's phone rang. I had forgot the Orkin bug man was coming and he was at the cabin so we cut the hike short and headed back. So much for another attempt at hiking for this day, oh well. We had a lite lunch then settled into reading on the porch and I tuned into the Ray's game which they were losing with a new pitcher they just acquired, oh well.

We headed out around 2:30 for the Frankis Place to help celebrate with other friends and family young Seth's first birthday. He is such a sweet happy boy who loves playing in the mud and of course he and all the kiddos were in the creek. That is such a great entertainment in and of its self. The area along the creek is shaded and just so great for huge gatherings and picnic's. What an awesome venue and both Jake and Katelyn love having folks over. We met new folks and I even played my first real game of corn hole with one of the Galyean twins who is now a high schooler and taller than me. We had finger foods and while we were going to get Chinese food on the way home we decided we weren't that hungry so we postponed until another day and came back and finished off the layered taco dip we took to the party. It was check out the gardens and then we both are into a new read so that what we did until bedtime around 10'ish, LATER
