Monday Morning Nov.4th

Well Sunday saw us with the first cool front of the winter with temps in the low 60's, wow did it ever feel great and the cloudy skies helped even more with a slight breeze. It was still rather hot but the humidity had lessened which made for great being outdoors most of the day. I headed out around 5:45 AM for the local college which is just across the road to help with the load in for BridgePoint Church. It was awesome to be back in with a great group of folks who turn the college into a worship center, cafe and Kids Point area. We both served one service and then worshipped in the other. We had fantastic crowds this day and of course we were welcomed back with hugs and handshakes and met several new folks for the first time as well. The worship was fantastic as well as we witnessed 3 who were baptized after the first service.

We got back to the house at noon and had a quick bite as Nancy put the finishing touches on her shower event for Katie. Kathryn came around 1'ish and helped then Bobby and family came and then Amy and family came, so we boys all rode with Bobby in his new Subaru SUV to the family entertainment center where we played for the next couple hours. There were batting cages which Bobby and Tyler did a couple times. The ball comes flying out at tremendous speeds to test your skills. We did a couple of those road race videos where you try to drive a race car on a race track which was a hoot. The big item and most fun was the Laser Tag game where you try to capture other teams flag as well as shoot your opponents and rack up points. It was a hoot and we played 2 full games which is done in a darkened maze with a variety of folks; little kids to old men like me. It was fun as you don a vest which has a tommy gun style weapon and when the laser hits you the vest goes dead for a few seconds but when your active the lights on your vest tell others where you are and your team colors for other teams lasers. Mucho Fun. The team I was on came in second both games with the number of hits.

We got back to the house around 4:30 and the shower was over and but everyone was still there plus us 10 guys and the house was full with all the girls. There were over 20 folks all having a grand time as we then started to celebrate Annsley and Gabe's birthday with a dinner around 6'ish. The Fruit of the vine flowed along with all of the finger foods from the shower and then I grilled a couple huge marinated flank steaks, buttered parsley taters and french style green beans and Megan brought a couple loaves of her fabulous home made bread. We also had a chocolate cake with chocolate icing as requested with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

We guys watched the Bucs lose again after being up 21-7 to lose in overtime, unbelievable they can be that error prone, oh well. They all left somewhere around 7'ish as it was a school day and Bobby had an early flight to Charlotte for his job. Katie was beautiful with her extended tummy and she cleaned up again with some great gifts. Carol brought little Palmer down for a visit and all of the kids gravitated to her as she lead them around the house. It was so funny to see all the kids  love up on her.

We organized the house once again and after a hot shower I headed into the bedroom to watch the late game on my TV and was soon out with some horizontal lab around 10'ish, LATER

We took lots of pics but with Nancy's new phone I haven't been able to upload them to my blog. I'll need Tylers help and it was too late to make those changes last evening. I' put them on as soon as I get that program to work.
